ROCKWELLA DAIRIES, ROBOTIC BARN
Rockwella Dairies has a permanent, full-time position available for an experienced herdsman to join management of our robotic dairy barn.
We are a family-run dairy farm located on the Fleurieu Peninsula. We milk approximately 700 registered Holsteins across two sites, with this position responsible for assisting with management of the herd at the new robotic barn — to include an up-to-400-cows

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and passionate about agriculture, with a strong commitment to animal welfare and herd management.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
• A positive work ethic and good time-management skills
• A strong understanding of technology
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A strong commitment to attendance and punctuality
• The ability to follow farm protocols and maintain high safety standards
• Experience in dairy
• A genuine passion for animal welfare and agriculture
• A current driver's licence and reliable transport
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Managing and maintaining the pack bed
• Learning and maintaining our Lely robots including upkeep/ operation
• Monitoring herd health and managing mastitis and treatments
• Managing the calving and dry-cow herd
• Monitoring cow health, condition and performance
• Following herd-health and animal-welfare protocols
• Assisting with feeding and TMR management where required
• General day-to-day dairy work, including cleaning and maintaining facilities
• Fetching cows and calves as required
• Machinery operation, where the applicant has the appropriate skills
