"π π½π§πππ©ππ, ππππ§πππ€π§π π πΌπ’"
guided meditation and breathwork classes designed to regulate the nervous system, clear, and calm the mind, and reconnect with the body through conscious breathing.
Simple, practical, and suitable for all levels.
π Inspired by Stoic philosophy, we explore the breath as both a practical wellbeing tool and a way to return to what is within your controlβone conscious inhale and exhale at a time.
π¬ We come into this life on an inhale and leave it on an exhale. π¬
βοΈBut what about all the breaths in between?
βοΈHow deep, healing, and expansive are your inhales?
βοΈHow slow, long, and freeing are your exhales?
π¬ Just one conscious breath can change the way you feel. π

π§ββοΈ In class, youβll learn practical conscious breathing techniques to support relaxation, calm, clarity, and connection .
The session begins with a brief yoga and movement warm-up, followed by breath and body awareness, and a guided breathwork and meditation practice in a supportive in-person setting.
π¬ Most importantly, experience true presence, by learning to anchor yourself entirely in the "here and now", focusing on the rhythmic flow of air entering and leaving the body rather than being at the mercy of the programmed overthinking mind. A potentially transformative offering to reset mind, body, and emotions.
π¬ Conscious diaphragmatic breathing can act like a natural reset button. It is one of the most effective ways to stimulate the vagus nerve and support the autonomic nervous systemβhelping to either calm or energise the breath, mind, and body.
Looking forward to meeting you on your mats. π

βοΈ Happy Easter to everyone celebrating todayβor next Sunday for Orthodox Easter βοΈ
ΞΞ±Ξ»Ο Ξ Ξ¬ΟΟΞ± ππ
β¨οΈ Easter celebrates:
π Hope, renewal, mercy, and forgiveness
π Love over fear and light over darkness
π Surrender and release of the ego to the light of truth
π Our eternal and divine nature β the crucifixion of ego and body, but not our eternal Spirit
π Resurrection β awakening from the amnesia and the illusion of separation
π Recognition that God is within us
π The symbol of Jesus the βChristβ β his role as an ultimate example, who teaches "I Am the Way, the Light, and the Life", and that we too can save and spare ourselves the suffering, like him, choose this path as well
π When we forget that we are all worthy aspects of God β small like grains of sand, yet holy parts of a vast whole β we suffer under the illusion of separation
π When we hurt another, we hurt ourselves. As we let go of the illusion and perceived separation from God β either by choice or by grace β we can reawaken, reconnect, and remember that the Kingdom of God is also within us.
π Choose Love. Choose peace. Choose forgiveness β for yourself and others. Not just at Easter: now, always now, in any moment and under any conditions. Take the highest conscious path, whether by choice or by grace, you have the free will to ask.

β¨οΈ "The time has now arrived at which they must raise the eye of the soul to the Universal Light which lightens all things." β Plato
π It's hard to have that expanded perspective of us on our home planet Earth spinning around a sun/star that is part of a greater universe.
π Daily liife as we know it and being human is dominated by the mundane trivial tasks of basic survival, getting by, all while trying to make sense and find meaning and purpose to our existence.
Some care, some don't.
π For those that care, don't stop, keep caring.
You matter.
How to connect to the light within and beyond your little self? In this big universe?
There are many practical ways to make that connection and expand your perception.
β¨οΈ Start with your Life-force.
Breathe now.
Consciously. With intention and attention.
The dial is within. Turn up your light.
Your body is the veil to greater awareness.
β¨οΈ Even one deep breath in and longer exhale out can soften resistance in the body.
β¨οΈ Connect to that Light-force. Your Life-force. Return to the breath often.
β¨οΈ So long as you're in a body and alive on this planet, breathing is your operating system.
β³οΈ The time is now. Start now.
Just as you are, in any and all conditions.
β¨οΈ Shine your light bright before it dims and you depart your body.
π When you breathe, you are not just taking in oxygen; you are participating in the "operating system" of the entire planet. Your light is part of the greater whole.
π The Stoics such as Marcus Aurelius also spoke of the mind as an "inner citadel."
Direct it. When the world feels overwhelming, your conscious breath is the bridge back to that safe, lit space where the external chaos can't reach you.
π¬ Only you can breathe for you.
Don't worry about others. Don't wait for others. Don't let others dim your light or take your breath or light away.
π Plato reminds us the time has now arrived. Now. It was and is Always now.
π§ββοΈ In our Stoic Yoga lessons we try to ignite the light and spark within, one aware breath at a time.

β¨οΈ "If a little is not enough for you, nothing is" once said Epicurus, our wise ancient Greek philosopher friend.
π Epicurus reminds us that if you cannot find peace in simple things, you will remain empty even in luxury.
π° Define true wealth?
β¨οΈ For me...contentment and finding joy and peace in simplicity...little moments of noticing, pausing, appreciating and connecting to myself, nature and to others is a richness available to us all.β¨οΈ
But we have to define it for ourselves and then choose it daily.
π Dissatisfaction, insatiable desires and constant craving is a form of poverty and a bottomless pitt easy to fall into. However, appreciating small blessings leads to inner peace and over time an overflowing heart.
We are not here forever and we take nothing with us. So choose wisely.
π Thank you to my wonderful students Tabitha and Jackie for our little chit chat after our class tonight as we were walking back to our cars. Community happens between people and contented heartsπ

π¬ How deep is your breath?
How long is your exhale?
Breath is central to yoga because breath is central to life.
Where there is no breath, people perish.
"π ππ§πππ©ππ, π©πππ§πππ€π§π π ππ’"
βοΈ Did you know you are just one breath away from feeling a little bit better?
βοΈ Did you know, that deep and slow diaphragmatic breathing is one of the most effective ways to stimulate the vagus nerve? Which is the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system (a.k.a "rest and digest"). It originates in the brainstem and branches out to the heart, lungs, and digestive tract and beyond with endless benefits.
π Try it. Pause...take a deep breath in...take a little more in....hold it....now breathe out longer and longer and a little longer. Feel that shift and release. Repeat.
In this day and age...we are so focused on " I think, therefore I am". We are so focused on efficient, productive and profitable thinking. We are so in our head, no wonder why we are overwhelmed and overstimulated.
However, there is also something much more powerful and often overlooked and if we learned a little bit more about our powerful life-force, our breath and breathing, we could tap into a deep reservoir of strength and power that can easily shift our nervous system, our joy, our emotion, our physical body and much more into a higher state.
π§ββοΈ In our Stoic Yoga lessons, we explore this life-force, this innate power of breath, call it life-force, call it pneuma, call it spirit, call it pranayama, call it qi-gong, it doesnβt matter the name we call it, it applies to all living beings on this planet! π
We let it lead our movements, we let it guide us and expand us, we let it heal and nourish us, one breath at a time.
"π ππ§πππ©ππ, π©πππ§πππ€π§π π ππ’"
π¬ Say and do this daily, see the peace that washes over you, see that weight that lifts off your chest, just a few conscious breaths daily can be a nice little habit to cultivate for your practical well-being.

πΎ Whether on the yoga mat, tennis court, racetrack, field, pool, surf, course, bike, pit, arena, stadium or any sports stage / platform ...there is ONE thing all athletes have in common and why we love to watch them perform and compete at their best... π π

β‘οΈThey're fully present...in the moment...mind, body, breath, soul and focus all in alignmentπͺβ‘οΈ
πͺ Single-minded, in the FLOW, nowhere else to be or go but in the holy NOW π«
π For many of us, though, in our daily lives, in the mundane, grind, routine and ordinary...we often get distracted, fragmented, diverted or become absent-minded.
πͺ This is why if you can participate in any regular sports, exercise or wellbeing practices to even catch a glimpse of what these athletes experience, you too can allow yourself to feel the rush, the flow and the beauty of this holy present moment and eternal now.
π§ββοΈ In our Stoic Yoga classes, we try to catch a glimpse of this alignment and embodied spirit πͺπͺπ«
π Stoic Philosopher, Epictetus, reminds us:
"Caretake this moment. Immerse yourself in its particulars. Respond to this person, this challenge, this deed. Quit the evasions. Stop giving yourself needless trouble. It is time to really live; to fully inhabit the situation you happen to be in now. You are not some disinterested bystander. Participate. Exert yourself. Respect your partnership with Providence. Ask yourself often, How may I perform this particular deed such that it would be consistent with and acceptable to the divine will? Heed the answer and get to work. When your doors are shut and your room is dark, you are not alone. The will of nature is within you as your natural genius is within. Listen to its importunings. Follow its directives. As concerns the art of living, the material is your own life. No great thing is created suddenly. There must be time. Give your best and always be kind".
