❄️ Winter Camp 2026 - what a week! ❄️
Today we farewelled another wonderful Winter Camp and sent home a crew of tired, happy campers.
Over the past week we’ve seen new friendships formed, confidence grow, challenges conquered and plenty of laughter shared. It’s been fantastic watching young people embrace all the fun, adventure and opportunities that camp has to offer.
A huge thank you to our amazing campers, volunteers and staff. Your enthusiasm, kindness and willingness to get involved are what make Winter Camp such a special community.
We hope everyone leaves with great memories, stronger connections, renewed confidence and a few stories to tell.
Until next time, thank you for being part of the Winter Camp family. We can’t wait to welcome you back for more adventures. 🏕️❄️💙

Guests can stay in our unique glamping and lodge accommodation, in a stunning lake and bush setting at the foot of the Mt Cole Range in Beaufort, just two hours from Melbourne. Abseil, canoe, hike the scenic Beeripmo Walk, catch a trout in the lake, spot our resident platypus and native wildlife, or simply socialise and soak up the view by the magnificent open fires. Cave Hill Creek is the perfect location to “Live the Outdoors”.

Our photographer inspired by the quiet beauty of the lake! Watching the ducks glide across the still water and the sun break over the hills has been the perfect, peaceful start to another big day of fun at Winter Camp 🌅🦆

We felt incredibly privileged to host the launch of The Strength of Women – Beaufort at Cave Hill Creek today.
This remarkable book, created by photographer Dean Morris and his wife Rochelle, is a powerful collection of portraits and stories celebrating more than 130 women from the Beaufort region. Behind every portrait is a beautiful, deeply personal story — each a unique narrative shaped by love, loss, strength, family, hardship, joy and hope.
We shared afternoon tea and drinks with over 200 attendees in the glorious winter sunshine, inspired by guest speakers Carol Cooke AM PLY and Julie‑Ann Sanders, whose words beautifully reflected the spirit of the project.
The book is a true celebration of community. Ange and several members of our team have had the opportunity to share our stories and the experiences that have shaped us.
Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to Dean and Rochelle for this inspiring and meaningful initiative — and for the many hours of dedication they have poured into bringing it to life. It truly captures the strength and heart of this region.
Even more wonderful, proceeds from book sales will support the Beaufort CWA and the Beaufort & Skipton Health Service.
A powerful celebration of community — captured through imagery and brought to life through storytelling.
A great initiative to be part of!

Learning in the Landscape🌿
On Saturday, we were delighted to welcome staff from Pyrenees Community House, Pyrenees Shire, and interested community members as part of the Firewise Pyrenees Bus Tour.
Led by Ange, the visit to CHC included a shared lunch, great conversations, and a guided walk around the lake.
We also shared insights into our approach to fire preparation and planning, along with the importance of managing gardens and grounds to create effective defendable spaces.
The tour started with a visit to Heritage Fruit Trees, where Kate and Rob generously hosted the group, offering a tour of their property and practical advice on fire-wise garden plantings. It was fantastic to see the shared focus on building safer, more resilient landscapes, with similar themes around creating and maintaining defendable spaces.
Days like this highlight the power of collaboration — sharing knowledge, strengthening community connections, and supporting each other to be better prepared.
