At 51, there are so many things I wish I could go back and tell my younger self.

Not to worry so much.
Not to obsess over food.
Not to spend so much time worrying about how my body looks.
And not to wait for the “perfect” body or the “right” time to enjoy life.

Getting older has taught me that being strong, healthy and capable is worth so much more than being smaller.

What would you add to the list?

Strengthen your shoulders with this simple windmill progression…

Start with no weight - arm straight up, tilt through the torso and look up to your hand.

Then add a ball or light object to challenge your shoulder stability and control.

Finally, progress to a dumbbell and gradually build strength with load.

It’s not about rushing to the heaviest weight. It’s about control, stability and progressing when you’re ready. 💪

Save this exercise and give it a try!

I thought knitting would be something I’d start a little later in life… but then I figured why not start now?

So I’m one week into my new hobby (knitting) and I’m seeing the similarities with exercise everywhere. 🧶💪😂

Both require patience.
Both require practice.
Both are slightly addictive.
And both are surprisingly good at calming a busy brain.

I never imagined my 50s would involve learning chin-ups AND knitting… but here we are. 😂

Turns out, getting stronger and slowing down can both be good for you. ❤️

Sometimes people try to “eat less” by skipping proper meals and grazing on little snacks all day.

But here’s the problem…

A piece of toast, a muesli bar, cheese and crackers or a handful of nuts can easily add up to the same, or even MORE calories than a proper, balanced meal… with far less protein, fibre and nutritional goodness.

And the biggest difference? You won’t feel as full or satisfied.

Sometimes the smarter choice for energy balance isn’t eating less food, it’s eating better food.

Build yourself an awesome meal with plenty of protein, veggies, fibre and volume. Sit down, eat it properly and actually feel satisfied.

Because constantly “saving calories” with snacks can sometimes leave you eating MORE without ever feeling like you’ve actually eaten.

Eat the meal. Feel full. Feel satisfied. Be strong.
