☑️ Strength training with intention
Don’t just “tick the box” with workouts - focus on progrressively building muscle and end range strength. Train upper & lower body separately to focus on form. This supports your joints, muscles and bone density as you age.
☑️ Daily mobility
Just 10-15 minutes/day can undo hours of sitting. It’s more than just mindless stretching, it’s reminding your joints if their full range so your body stays supple & resilient.
☑️ Walk 10,000 steps/day
Walking is not a replacement for exercise, it’s your baseline. It supports your heart, brain, digestion, mood & function. Integrate it anyway you can through your day & you’ll feel the difference.
☑️ Spend time barefoot
Your feet are your foundation for how your entire body moves. Modern shoes weaken them & cause dysfunction - Start transitioning to barefoot shoes & spend time daily barefoot to rebuild your strength & improve your balance.
☑️ Sit on the floor
Skip the chairs as much as possible. Even 10 minutes/day of floor sitting keeps your hips mobile, your spine strong & encourages natural movement patterns every time you get up & down.
These aren’t big commitments but they will radically change your future when done consistently.
