🐮 Whitsunday Brahmans | MEET THE COMMITTEE 🐮

Meet our club Secretary, Bryce Fraser — also known as Vanilla Bryce or Brown Rice! 😂

Bryce has been part of the Brahmans for 12 years, first joining after being stitched up by Doug Davy to come along to training for a bit of “fitness”… only to find himself playing that weekend! 🏉

These days, Bryce is an important part of what happens behind the scenes. From setting up the fields, bar and canteen to ground announcing, scoring and keeping the tunes going on game day, he’s always doing his part to keep things running.👏🏼

When asked what keeps him coming back each season:
“Come back? Do we ever leave?” 😅

Bryce says the friendships, camaraderie and family atmosphere are what he loves most about the Brahmans, and he’s looking forward to seeing the club continue to grow stronger in 2027.💜

Missed the original RSVP deadline? Don't worry, we've extended it! 🎟️

You now have until Friday, 18 September to RSVP for our 2026 Whitsunday Brahmans Presentation Night.

We want to give everyone the opportunity to come along and celebrate the end of another season with us. It's a night to recognise our teams and the people who have been part of our year, from our players and coaching staff to our loyal volunteers, valued sponsors, families and supporters.

🐮 COACH PROFILE | HARLEY BATEUP 🐮

Meet our Metropole Hotel A Grade player-coach, Harley Bateup—although around the club, he’s simply known as Coach!

With 21 years of playing experience, Harley brings plenty of knowledge, passion and commitment to the Brahmans. Inspired to play rugby league by his older brothers, he now enjoys helping his own players develop, improve and achieve success together.

His focus for the team this season has been simple: be better each week.

Of course, coaching while playing doesn’t leave much time for a pre-game ritual—and according to Harley, Adam Butterill is the player most likely to keep him laughing!

When asked what he loves most about the Brahmans, Harley said it best:

“The community spirit and the family feel. Everyone at the club is like family.”

Thank you, Harley, for everything you contribute both on and off the field. We’re proud to have you leading our A Grade team! 💚💜

🐮 Whitsunday Brahmans | Player Profile Series 🐮

Meet Doug Davy, also known as “The Old Fella”, one of our Whitsunday Mowers Reserve Grade players. 🤘🏼

With around 33 years of playing experience, Doug is a Brahmans junior and lists the 2010 and 2015 Premierships as his career highlights.🏉

His goal for the season was to win another Grand Final before hanging up the boots, while his advice for junior players is simple: “Be dependable!” 🙌🏼

And what does he love most about the Brahmans?
“That we’re always the underdogs!” 🔥

A very proud night for the Whitsunday Brahmans, with some of our talented players recognised among the 2026 nominees!
🌟 Nomination of Male Rookie of the Year — Mitchell Hinton
🌟 Nomination of Female Rookie of the Year — Amber Standerwick
🌟 Nomination of U20 Player of the Year — Kassius Bell

A special shoutout also goes to Riley Snow and Bonnie Moretto, who were both nominated for U17 Player of the Year.
And a huge congratulations to Bonnie Moretto, who took home the U17 Player of the Year award! 👏🏼

Every one of you should be incredibly proud of your nominations and what you’ve achieved this season. To be recognised amongst the best in the Mackay competition is an achievement in itself. 💚

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, stepdads, uncles, father figures and important men within our Whitsunday Brahmans community.

To the dads on the sidelines, the dads who coach, volunteer, lend a hand, drive to trainings, cheer from the stands and support our players week after week, thank you for everything you do. 👏🏼

We hope you all have the best day, surrounded by family, plenty of laughs and maybe a little footy too!

This week’s player spotlight is on Max “Maxy” Andrews, a versatile player who brings experience, commitment and plenty of heart every time he steps onto the field. 🏉

With 15 years of rugby league behind him, Max’s career highlight of making his A Grade debut is just one of many milestones. Whether he’s playing in the centres, second row or at lock, his goal remains the same—to help the team enjoy a successful season.

What Max loves most about the Brahmans perfectly sums up what our club is all about: “Built around a strong community, not just a club that pays players.” 💜

🐮 WHITSUNDAY BRAHMANS | MINOR SEMI FINAL 🐮

An incredible effort from our Whitsunday Mowers Reserve Grade, whose 2026 season came to an end today after a hard-fought Minor Semi Final against the Wests Tigers.
It was an intense and exciting game from start to finish, with our boys leaving everything on the field. Unfortunately, we went down by just two points, 22–24. 🏉

While it wasn’t the result we were hoping for, we as a club are incredibly proud of this team and everything they have achieved throughout the season. Making it to the Minor Semi Final is something to be proud of, and the commitment shown by every player has represented the Brahmans with pride. 👏🏼

A huge thank you to our coaching and support staff for the countless hours, effort and commitment you have given to this team throughout the year. 💚

To our supporters who made the trip to Mackay today and those who have supported the boys all season, thank you. We are incredibly grateful to have such a strong community behind our club. ✨

And to our valued sponsors, thank you for your continued support of the Whitsunday Brahmans. Our season simply wouldn’t be possible without you.💜

Now, it’s time to come together and celebrate the 2026 season! 🏆
