It’s that time of year to get chatting with your mates and organise a team for twilight tennis.

Surry District Saturday Competition team planning is well underway. Anyone interested in playing comp on Saturday afternoon please get in touch ASAP. Teams are being finalised and we need interested fillins also to let us know.

We welcome teams to be submitted for twighlight.

Any single players who would like to join a team now is the time to reach out.

If your team needs a player please get in contact with Cam or Kellie so we are well abreast of who can be connected on the 13 th October registration night.

Sooner than later means we are more organised.

We’ve had a very active off season this year. Continuing our monthly meetings right thru out the year.

We’ve had some new members join the committee at our AGM Thankyou ⭐️ we’ll introduce everyone in the coming weeks.

Focusing on the grass courts structure and projecting our vision on improving the playing surface.

We’ve now got a grass nursery to start plugging some well needed support of the right grass to the courts and some sprinkler updates.

There’s still work to be done and we welcome any support you can give us as the weather improves.

We have our club start of season working bee coming up on the 14th October 26. Many hands makes light work. The hard courts need cleaning and some general maintenance.

Hit up and grading for any new players and registration on the 13 th October please come make this a night to meet and Greet. Bar will be open.

We are so looking forward to this year and a few more teams in all grades will mean ladies and B grade will be back with vengeance.

🎾🎾 Bruce Elijah turned 80 🎾🎾
🎂🎈🥳
Our beloved long time tennis coach, committed member, friend and life member of the Portland Lawn Tennis Club had a sneaky 80 th birthday a couple of weeks ago. 👑

Bruce is still involved in our tennis club and acts as our referee. We Thankyou so much Bruce for your commitment and service to our club.

What an incredible milestone and a life filled with so many memories, friendships and experiences. Hoping you had a wonderful day surrounded by the people who love and respect you the most. May you feel just how much you are valued and appreciated. Here’s to 80 wonderful years and many more memories still to come. 🎂❤️✨

Calling all kids wanting to try tennis for their sport.

Looking for a summer sport. This is a great way to learn and also meet other kids.

Hotshots teaches your kids those skills of tennis thru fun games and play.

Our first age group to start the season is getting ready for match play should you choose with our Surry District Junior competition that plays Saturday mornings.

Or keep going with hot shots right thru the tennis season with a break over Christmas and January.

Our younger group joining in and starting 21st October 2026 for 6 weeks.

We are excited to be having a come and try day for juniors 8-15.

We have Saturday morning CGrade and B Grade Saturday afternoon along with the Adult teams.

We also have a B grade competition on a Tuesday evening.
We would really love any juniors who would like to play to come and have a chat this Tuesday 430 pm

We want to boost our junior club members . Bring a friend and see if this is a sport you’d like to be a part of .
Lots of exciting opportunities with singles competition running in the south west the season. Portland will be hosting two of these events.

Anyone interested in playing SDTA tennis this season with Lawn please send us a message. We are looking for both junior and senior players. Juniors play on Saturday mornings and seniors Saturday afternoon from 1:30pm. Looking forward to hearing from you 🎾😀🎾

Our club relies on volunteers and we’re looking for some fresh faces to help guide the next chapter of Portland Lawn Tennis Club.

We’d especially love to strengthen our finance team, so if you have bookkeeping, accounting, administration or budgeting skills (or would like to learn), we’d love to hear from you.

All committee positions are open and we’d love to welcome new members with ideas and enthusiasm.

If you’ve ever enjoyed being part of our club, this is a wonderful way to give back and help ensure tennis continues to thrive in Portland.
