PORT MACQUARIE ATHLETES DOMINATE NATIONAL JIU JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP
NBN News came in to interview our coaches and team this week following our results at the Australian National Jiu Jitsu Championship in Melbourne.

We took a team of 11 athletes to Melbourne and came home with 5 new Australian National Champions and a strong medal count.
Head Coach Professor Egor Rocha won double gold taking out the Black Belt No Gi Heavyweight and Open Weight divisions. For 4 years in a row he has won the Black Belt Australian National Championship Title.
This year Professor Israel Hyde also won the National title in his weight division making both of our Black Belt Professors Australian National Champions at Evolve BJJ. It was Israel’s first ever national event and he was proud to share the experience with his daughter Alana who also competed at the event.
Student Liam Clarke won gold at his first ever national event. A dominant performance winning with two submissions. At just 14 Liam is already looking ahead to compete overseas.

Congratulations to Mason, Maddie, Chris & Xander on earning their Grey/ White Belts.
Each one earned with dedication, discipline and effort on the mats. These four have shown up consistently, pushed themselves in training and gained valuable experience competing. They support each other and their team mates in class.
This is what our Kids & Youth Team is built on. And it’s just the beginning.

EVOLVE BJJ NBN NEWS TONIGHT
NBN News came in to the academy to interview our coaches about our incredible results at the 2026 Australian National Championship in Melbourne and the QLD State Championship.
Our team returned home with 5 new Australian National Champions and a stack of medals.
Professor Egor won Double Gold at the Australian National Championship and is now 4 x Black Belt Australian National Champion, having won the National title at every belt level of his career.
Professor Israel competed at Australian Nationals for the first time and won Gold in his division making both of our Black Belt Coaches Australian National Champions.

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION 2026 - LIAM 🥇
Liam brought home gold in the Gi at the Australian National Championship after a dominant performance, submitting both of his opponents.
He is a dedicated member of our Youth Team. He trains every day, is passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and continues to step up & test himself in competition.
Liam also competed in No Gi and earned silver finishing an incredible weekend with gold and silver at the national level.

BLUE BELT AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION 🥇
Barry has been putting in the work all year at Evolve BJJ, training hard and chasing his goals. This weekend in Melbourne it all came together.
Barry won gold in his Blue Belt weight division at the Australian National Championship with a dominant performance from start to finish. He also stepped up in the Open Weight division and brought home bronze.

More action from our weekend in Melbourne at the Australian National Championship 2026.
It was an amazing weekend away with our team. Watching everyone come together and manage their nerves before matches, celebrate wins, pick each other up after tough losses and keep going. That’s what competing as a team looks like.
Preparing for the biggest competition in Australia, travelling together and being there for one another through it all.
We are very proud of everyone who competed and grateful for everyone who travelled to Melbourne to share this experience with us.

2026 AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION 🥇
Congratulations Professor Israel.
Yesterday in Melbourne, Professor Israel won gold in the Black Belt division at the Australian National Championship. Years of dedication all leading to this moment on the biggest stage in Australian BJJ.
What made this weekend even more special was having his daughter Alana competing alongside him in the Blue Belt division. A father and daughter on the national stage together, sharing the weekend with their family and our team.
