Port Augusta Golf Club With the beautiful Flinders Ranges making a spectacular backdrop for Port Augusta’s Golf Course, 1 Limited golf club hire is available from the club house.

With the beautiful Flinders Ranges making a spectacular backdrop for Port Augusta’s Golf Course, 18 fully grassed greens and fairways and a licensed Club, the course is considered one of the best country courses in northern South Australia. All golfing visitors are welcome, and those with an AGU official handicap are also welcome to join in the competitions. The Club is staffed by volunteers and is open every day from 8am to 4pm. The Bar is open Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm until approximately 6pm and Friday's from 5.30pm.

⛳️ Course Maintenance Announcement 🚧

The Course staff and volunteers are currently undertaking a Spring renovation of the greens. This will be completed over the next 3 weeks and involves heavy de-thatching, fertilising and top-dressing. Members and Visitors are asked to please be patient with the greens over this time as they will improve greatly and quickly when they come out of this renovation.

Saturday's comp was the Max Boully Cup, in honour of Max Boully, a member and Club Champion of our club on both sides of World War 2 and an inaugural inductee into our Hall of Fame.

The greens are not great at the moment, but it was necessary to take decisive action to control excessive thatch in the greens, and once a bit more growth has occurred they will be able to be top dressed and they will then come back to a much better condition.

The competition last Saturday was the John Main Memorial Trophy, featuring the No Preferred Lie Cup. As John would have liked. it was a stroke competition with of course no preferred lie. The fairways are in pretty decent condition so that ought not have made too much difference.

Thanks to Jim and Julia Main, and Steve and Cheryl Main for the day, it is a great event in our calendar, and a great opportunity to reflect on the contribution to our club by the late John Main.

Hi - this Saturday is one of our great events for the year - the John Main Memorial Trophy, sponsored by the Main family.
It is a sh***un start at 11.30 am and it is a strictly no preferred lie event.
John loved the traditions of golf and we run this competition this way in respect of this.
This is one of our excellent comps for the year and would be great to have a lot of support for it.

Hi,
Just an update on our history book distribution. We are slowly working through our list of pre registrations, that remain unfulfilled, concentrating on the ones not current members.
Soon we will start also contacting selected club notables that we hadn't heard from to see if they would like to buy a copy ($82.00 each + postage $16.40 in Australia where applicable).

If any outstanding pre registrations are in a position to do an EFT purchase (same bank details as for subs), then the important paying part is done and we will just need to get your book to you. If you do that, put your name and PAGC history book), and that will identify the source, and we will then get the book to you. You can leave a message here to say you have made the payment but we will check every week for payments. Note we are only filling for those who pre registered their interest in one of the many calls we made, or the sheets that were on the club noticboard for around 6 months.

If you need bank account details to do an EFT please send a message and we will get those to you.

I will have them around the club on Saturdays, so local members/other locals could catch me there or enquire at the bar.

If there are any left after those processes we will post a new call for sale if there are any remaining available.
