Congratulations to our GM³ Dendrobium Mine team on receiving the Environmental Excellence Award at this year's NSW Mining Health, Safety, Environment and Community Awards. 👏

The award recognises their outstanding work in partnership with Symbio Wildlife Park, using thermal drone technology to map koala and the endangered greater glider populations across the Illawarra escarpment. 🐨

The project has provided valuable new insights, confirming stable koala populations in areas where they were once thought to be locally extinct, while adding important knowledge to guide future conservation efforts.

This achievement was made possible through collaboration. A big thank you to our partners at Symbio Wildlife Park, UOW: University of Wollongong, Australia and the government agencies who worked alongside us throughout the project.

This project shows what's possible when industry, researchers and conservation experts work together to better understand and protect our local wildlife.
