What is your favourite posture? Can you name this one? 🤔

Stephen has been teaching our Yin Yoga Teacher Training for over a decade.

What makes training with Stephen different? 📚
As a physiotherapist, he has an extraordinary ability to communicate the anatomy of Yin to teachers in a meaningful way.

You’ll gain an evidence-based understanding of the body and be able to teach in ways that are both informative and inclusive. 🥰

There is lots of time for discussions and practical group activities, so you’ll meet like-minded teachers too!

Which one are you? 🤔

These days, it seems like everyone is seeking intensity.

If I’m honest, it’s getting more and more difficult to convey that consistency is essential.

Yes, intensity has its place. That’s why we run silent retreats and Ashtanga intensives.

Periods of strong practice, peeling back the layers. Days and days of devotion. Of attuning to ourselves and our breath. This changes how we move out into the world. ✨

Yet intensity without consistency leaves you in a cycle of crash and burn.

People jump from class to class, therapist to therapist.

It becomes its own avoidance.

And if you are working with pain, anxiety, adhd, health conditions and wellbeing….

Well, you can see the result in the diagram. The focus on

INTENSITY

Instead of

CONSISTENCY

Often leaves you in more pain, anxiety still unresolved and a spiritual practice wherein you’re still looking for entertainment. 🤯 It’s the same when people go on strict weight loss regimes. Statistically, people end up weighing more.

I get it’s not easy to be consistent. 🧡

But we need to talk about this pattern.

And when you wake up one day and think f**k I’m bored with this same old crap.

I’ll be here for you. Book a Yoga Therapy session.

All our teachers will be here for you.

Because they have consistent yoga practices. 🧘

Do you relate?

When we practice Yin Yoga, we settle into stillness. Although it is still a physical practice, our attention is shifted inward. 🧘

What happens when we still the body?
Usually, the mind starts to get really busy.

💬 What’s for dinner?
💬 Oh, I need to pay that bill.
💬 Must remember to text so and so.

It’s very easy to get carried away with the thoughts, and sometimes that might be what we need in the moment.

However, we can find an anchor - the breath, the teacher’s voice, or the sound of the music. ✨

In this class, Jean uses a playlist based on clinical trials of psychedelics for mental health.

She intertwines pranayama, or “breath control”, which unlike modern-day ‘breath work’ is taught in a trauma-sensitive way. 🥰
