Cardiac rehabilitation is primary in secondary prevention. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) is the front line to risk stratification.
The more information an exercise physiologist has, the better the exercise prescription can be.
Max CPET can only be done within primary care facilities but sub max testing with appropriately screened patients can also be done in an exercise physiology clinic.
