We are delighted to announce that at our AGM on the 28th of July 2026, John Sherry was made a Life Member of the association. John has held many key executive positions including that of President for two years 2015 -2017, Secretary for two years 2011-2013 and Registrar for a number of years. John has umpired in 185 senior male grade games. A stalwart of the association. Many congratulations John on your life membership.

We extend a warm welcome to Lauren McGill who comes to us from NSW Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association.

It is not her first time in Perth, umpiring in the National U19 championships last year.

The WACUA is reaching out with immense sadness to share the news of Trevor Krink’s sudden passing. Trevor was in the Northern Territory, umpiring as he had done for many years, continuing his commitment to cricket and the community he cherished.

Throughout his distinguished involvement in WA Premier Cricket, Trevor officiated in 151 Senior games, including 20 First grade, 53 Second grade, 29 Third grade, 29 Fourth grade, 9 T20, and 11 Colts. His dedication extended further, with 53 Senior female grade games, 20 Junior female games, and 62 Junior male games. Altogether, Trevor umpired a total of 286 games, a testament to his enduring passion and unwavering commitment to umpiring.

Beyond WA Premier Cricket, Trevor was currently umpiring in the WASTCA and was a familiar face in the Northern Territory throughout the winter months, lending his expertise to their cricket season. His involvement in cricket was far-reaching, with strong associations to the Peel Cricket Association, Peel Junior Cricket Association, and Rockingham Mandurah District Cricket Club. Trevor’s love for the game was evident not only through his umpiring but in all aspects of cricket, and he enriched the lives of many through his enthusiasm and dedication.

Trevor’s loss is deeply felt within the cricket community and by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to his partner, Natalie, and all their family during this difficult time.
