After an incredible playing career, Chanel Gomes has decided to call time on netball, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved.

Chanel joined our club in 2021 and has been our Open captain ever since. Over that time, she has played 94 Open games, leading our group with passion, experience and an unwavering commitment to her teammates and our club.

Chanel came to us with an incredible netball resume. A former West Coast Fever defender, she competed at the national level before going on to represent her country with the Australian Diamonds, making her Test debut in 2012. 🇦🇺

But for us, Chanel’s impact goes far beyond what she achieved on court.

For six seasons, she has been the heart of our Open group. Our captain, our leader, our teammate and our friend. She brought standards, competitiveness and experience, but also genuine care for the people around her and an enormous love for the club.

Chanel, thank you for everything you have given to our club. Thank you for your leadership, your loyalty, the memories and everything you have done for those who have taken the court alongside you.

Congratulations on an incredible career Chanel. Enjoy retirement, you’ve certainly earned it.

100 DEMONS CLUB GAMES FOR HAYLEY ❤️🖤

A huge congratulations to Hayley Evans, who celebrated an incredible 100 Demons Club Games in the Semi Final on Wednesday!

A true one club player, Hayley absolutely bleeds red and black. She consistently puts her teammates and the club first and embodies the qualities we value most at Demons, commitment, selflessness and passion.

Hayley came through the Southern Districts pathway into Demons and has continued to make her mark on our club. This season she has been shining in the Opens team, playing an important role in helping them earn their place in this Sunday’s Preliminary Final.

100 games is an incredible milestone and a testament to your loyalty and commitment to our club.

Congratulations, Hayley. We are incredibly proud of you and truly lucky to have you on our side. ❤️🖤
