The move from Wingless to the LS1 division can be a daunting one, but Brad Wells made the transition look effortless.

In his first season behind the wheel of an LS1, Wells not only claimed the 2025/26 Rookie of the Year award but also established himself as one of the benchmark drivers in the class.

His season was built on consistency, determination and the ability to perform when it mattered most. Wells challenged for wins and podiums throughout the year, highlighted by a podium finish at the WA State Title, runner-up finishes at the Krikke Boys Shootout, King of the Wings and the Bonza Bradford Memorial, while also recording a third-place finish at the Mark Bloxsidge Memorial.

Those performances culminated in an incredible 1,257 championship points, enough to secure the LS1 Series Championship by just 24 points and complete one of the most successful rookie campaigns the division has seen.

Winning Rookie of the Year is recognition of a season that exceeded every expectation, and with a championship already to his name, the future looks incredibly bright.

Congratulations to Brad Wells on an outstanding debut season and a well-deserved Rookie of the Year award.

Craig Burgess capped off another impressive season in the familiar Colonial Freightliners - backed No. 6, finishing third in the 2025/26 LS1 Series standings with 1,122 points.

The experienced campaigner enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career, highlighted by an emotional breakthrough victory at the Mark Bloxsidge Memorial in Moora, his first career feature race win. It was a long-awaited milestone and a reward for years of dedication to the sport.

Burgess also stood on the podium at the WA State Title, bringing home second place in one of the season’s biggest events and adding another strong result with third at the King of the Wings in Moora.

While his results on track speak for themselves, Burgess’ contribution to the LS1 division extends far beyond race day. A respected figure within the club, he is always willing to lend a hand, support fellow competitors and go above and beyond for the class, making him one of the true stalwarts of the division.

Combining consistency, perseverance and a career-defining victory, Burgess’ third-place finish in the championship was thoroughly deserved.

Congratulations to Craig Burgess on an outstanding season and a well-earned third place in the 2025/26 LS1 Series.
