Each pose serves a purpose. 🤍

Postnatal yoga isn’t about getting your body “back.”

It’s about giving your body exactly what it needs in this season of mothering.

Each movement is carefully chosen to support your recovery—helping you rebuild strength where it’s needed, release the areas that work hardest while caring for your baby, and create moments of rest amongst the busyness of everyday life.

Here’s why we practise these poses:

✨ Pose 1: Build deep core stability and reconnect with your breath.

✨ Pose 2: Open the chest and shoulders to ease the tension created by feeding, cuddling and long hours of holding your little one.

✨ Pose 3: Strengthen the hips and legs to support carrying, lifting and feeding your baby.

✨ Pose 4: Improve spinal mobility and gently release the lower back.

✨ Pose 5: Restore balance through the pelvis while improving stability and coordination.

✨ Pose 6: Perhaps even going upside down to build confidence in movement again.

✨ Pose 7: Finding a balance between effort and+ ease, while minimising pressure on the pelvic area

✨ Pose 8: Encourage glute activation at the wall to counteract the pancake butt that comes with motherhood.

✨ Pose 9: A moment of rest—to integrate, breathe, and simply be.

“I wish I’d known this the first time.”

After almost 20 years of supporting women through pregnancy and birth, it’s one of the most common things I hear from parents expecting their second baby.

Birth education is often one of the most overlooked parts of preparing for a baby. Yet understanding how your body works, how to use your breath, and how your birth partner can support you can make a profound difference to the way you experience labour.

My Yoga for Active Birth Workshop isn’t about promising the “perfect” birth. It’s about helping you feel informed, prepared, and confident in your body’s incredible capacity—whether you’re planning a hospital birth, birth centre, or home birth.

🤍 Partners are warmly welcomed.

I’d love to hear from you…

Have you attended a birth preparation workshop before? What made the biggest difference—or what do you wish you’d known before labour began?

I’ll often talk about the relevance of the moon as pregnant woman 🫶✨🌙

Research tells us there’s no clear link between the moon and the onset of labour.

But when you spend your life on call to birth…
when you watch patterns unfold in real time, year after year…
you start to notice something undeniable….

April to April.
Every birth I attended.

There is a rhythm.
A clustering.
A quiet, undeniable pattern.

Women are cyclical.
And we are not separate from the world we live in.

The tides respond to the moon.
We are made of water.

It’s not such a stretch to feel there might be a connection

There is something deeply tender about the season after birth —
the learning, the adjustment, the love, the fatigue, the becoming. ✨

Elevate your teaching with a prenatal yoga training that weaves professional depth with the soulful wisdom of yogic tradition.

Grounded in classical yoga philosophy and informed by women‑centred birthing practices, this program invites teachers to explore the feminine life cycle as an embodied journey of transformation.

Through embodied practice, reflective inquiry, and refined teaching skills, you’ll come to recognise pregnancy not only as a physiological passage, but as a spiritual unfolding of intuition, resilience, and inner strength.

Our method honours the subtle rhythms of this experience, offering practices that cultivate steadiness, spaciousness, and empowerment. Graduates emerge with clarity, confidence, and compassionate presence—equipped to guide expectant students with skill, sensitivity, and depth through pregnancy, birth, and early mothering.

Sometimes all you need is a couple of minutes to drop down or drop in!

I love to do this one in the kitchen - you can use anything that sturdy enough to provide support

🛑Note that unsupported malasana ~ deep squats ~ encourages apana vayu ~ the downward flow of energy, which is NOT advised if you fall into any of the following:

❌Placenta previa / low lying placenta
❌Are between 32 - 37 weeks
❌Are over 32 weeks and your baby is breech
❌Have pelvic girdle or p***c symphysis pain

You can skip malasana altogether and just enjoy the hang of your belly facing the ground OR grab two blocks, a small stool or a stack of books to sit on!

PS This supported standing sequence can also be used during labour too!

The remaining spaces in my first prenatal yoga series of 2026 are OPEN for booking. Classes run over 5 weeks - no class on the public holiday 26 January.

For those who sign up early, I’ll send you access to a library of home pregnancy yoga practices to enjoy at home, including yoga nidra and meditation especially for mums to be.

This will be my 17th year teaching; I am incredibly honoured to hold space for women and mothers. I continue to evolve my knowledge and appreciation of the female form and how beautifully ancient yogic practices provide support.
