The stadium had NO floodlights. With Sri Lanka trailing, the umpires suddenly stopped play for bad light and declared Australia the winners. Aussies started celebrating. Wait... NO! The officials realized they misread the rulebook. The game wasn’t legally over yet. They needed 3 more overs or everyone had to come back tomorrow. Both captains refused to come back the next day. So, Sri Lanka agreed to bat out the final overs in near-total pitch blackness against Aussie spinners they can barely see.
