Not the result we were after as we went down 6-16 to 3-27, but there's still plenty to take from the game. We put together some really good passages of hurling, especially in the first half and again in the closing stages, but we let the third quarter get away from us and that ultimately proved the difference. We found ourselves chasing the game after that, but the lads showed great fight in the final quarter, taking the game right back to Sarsfields and cutting the gap to just two points before time ran out.
Jack Forde was a constant threat inside, breaking through the defence every time he got his hands on the ball and finishing some excellent scores. At the back, Shane Treacy and Dale O'Hanlon were immense, battling away all day and standing up when we were under serious pressure. It was also great to get valuable minutes into plenty of lads, which will only benefit us heading into the business end of the season.
Sarsfields were worthy winners on the day. Their touch was sharp, they were accurate throughout and made the most of the chances they created. Best of luck to them in the final. We'll dust ourselves down, regroup and turn all our attention to the championship semi-final.

A dominant display from the Western Swans saw them record an impressive 8-10 to 2-1 victory over Γire Γg in Round 6.
It was a fantastic team performance with plenty of positives to take from the afternoon. The match saw a number of players make their Swans debuts, while several girls who had travelled down from work got valuable game time and made a real impact. The squad depth was also on full display, with the management able to call on plenty of fresh legs from the bench to maintain the intensity throughout the game. Every player contributed, and it was great to see so many getting meaningful minutes as the Swans continue to build momentum. A strong all-round performance and another excellent result for the group.

New Western Swans Training Tops
We're delighted to get our new Western Swans training tops out on the training field.
A big thank you to Crotty Civil for sponsoring the tops. We really appreciate your support of the club and are proud to have your logo on our training gear.
We're also proud to have the Dillon Quirke Foundation logo featured on the back of every top. The Foundation does fantastic work raising awareness of the importance of cardiac screening, and we're grateful for the opportunity to support that message through our club.
A big thanks to everyone who helped make these tops happen. Looking forward to seeing them getting plenty of use over the rest of the season. π£βͺπ¦’

π‘β« Club Announcements π‘β«
Firstly, a huge congratulations to long-time Swans members, camogie player Ashleigh Sheehan and hurler Damo Culkin, on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Hallie. Wishing the three of them a lifetime of happiness and plenty of sleep! πΆπΌπ
Secondly, we'd like to wish Cathal Reilly and his partner Aoibhinn all the very best as they head home to Ireland. Cathal has been a fantastic long-term member of the club and both will be greatly missed around the Swans. Thanks for all the memories, the laughs and your contribution over the years.

A much-improved display from the lads today and a thoroughly deserved win. We defended brilliantly throughout, hunting in packs and working hard for one another all over the field. The backs laid a fantastic platform for the forwards, who certainly had their shooting boots on and were clinical in front of goal.
The work rate was noticeably higher than in previous weeks and it showed in every aspect of our performance. We were sharper, more disciplined and more ruthless when chances came our way, securing a much-needed victory.
Special mentions to Jack Quaid, Ian O'Brien, Adam Drewett and Jack Forde, who were outstanding on the day and played huge roles in getting us over the line. Plenty to build on heading into the next round π‘β«

Our camogie team put in a spirited performance against St Gabriel's in a highly competitive contest. The girls worked hard throughout, showed great determination, and played some excellent camogie at times.
While the result didn't go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the game. Credit to St Gabriel's, who were deserved winners on the day.
The effort, attitude and teamwork shown by our players was fantastic, and we look forward to building on this performance in the weeks ahead.

A disappointing day at the office for the Swans as we fell to a sharp and clinical Shamrocks side. We never really got going, and Shamrocks made the most of their chances with some excellent shooting throughout.
To our credit, we battled back and reduced the deficit to just three points during a strong purple patch, but we couldn't build on that momentum and Shamrocks deserved the result.
On a positive note, it was great to see a few new faces pull on the black and amber for the first time. Plenty to work on and we'll be looking to bounce back next time out.

Western Swans are proud to support former member and Honorary Member, Linda Codd, as she organises a Memorial Night and GoFundMe fundraiser in memory of her late mother.
Linda made an enormous contribution to Western Swans during her time in Perth. From serving on the Hurling Sub-Committee to managing countless gear and jersey orders, she was always willing to put her hand up and help wherever needed. In recognition of her dedication and commitment to the club, Linda was made an Honorary Member of Western Swans in 2022.
While the Memorial Night will take place in Ireland, we'd love for our Swans community to get behind this wonderful cause by supporting the GoFundMe and sharing the fundraiser with family and friends.
Please join us in supporting Linda and honouring the memory of her mother. β€οΈπ€π

FULL TIME | Western Swans 7-19 (40) β 2-00 (6) Γire Γg
The final scoreline might suggest a comfortable afternoon, but this was anything but straightforward. Γire Γg played some serious camogie and didn't give our girls an inch, with the sides going score for score throughout the first half. At the break, there was just two points between the teams, with the Swans leading 1-2 to 1-0.
The second half was a completely different story. The girls raised the intensity all over the pitch and produced some outstanding camogie. Brilliant running off the ball, clever stick passing and consistently finding the player in the better position allowed us to create and take our scoring chances.
A special mention to the many girls making their first-ever appearance for the Swans, as well as those returning after some time away from the game. It was fantastic to see everyone contributing so positively and settling in so well.
The impact from the bench was also immense, with our substitutes contributing an incredible 3-6 and helping drive the team on when it mattered most.
Plenty of positives to take from the performance. On to the next one. β«π‘
