Yoga creates space to grow us physically, mentally, and spiritually. Each one of us needs a space to Prasanna means Happy. Practising yoga keeps the Chitta happy.

Chitta includes mind, intellect, memory, and ego.

Almost every person who comes to us learns a breath practice before they learn a single pose.
That's not a modern wellness trend — it's the older part of the tradition. In the lineage we trained in, breath sits at the centre of the practice, not as a warm-up for the physical work but as the thing the physical work is preparing you for. Both of us came up through the Sri Sri School of Yoga, and that ordering was never presented as optional.
There's a practical reason too. A pose needs a mat, a bit of space and a body that's willing on the day. A breath practice needs none of those things. It comes with you to the car park, the waiting room, the difficult meeting. For someone managing a health condition, that portability is often worth more than flexibility.
So we start there. Tradition and practicality pointing the same direction — which, in our experience, is usually a sign you're on solid ground. 🌿

Here's a test you can do right now, sitting where you are.
Put one hand on your chest and one on your lower ribs. Breathe normally for a few breaths and notice which hand moves more.
If it's the top hand, you're breathing high — which most of us do, especially when we're busy. It's not dangerous, but it's less efficient, and it quietly tells the nervous system that something's up.
To shift it:
• 1. Let your shoulders drop and your jaw soften.
• 2. Breathe in gently and aim the breath at the bottom hand — think wide, not big.
• 3. Let the exhale be a little longer and completely unforced.
• 4. Six rounds. That's it.
Two minutes, no equipment, works at a desk. Which hand moved more for you? 🌿

An invitation, with no pressure attached.
If this winter has been a heavy one, and you've been meaning to start something gentle but haven't had it in you — that's a very normal place to be, and it's a fine place to start from.
Our Darch studio is small on purpose: eight mats, quiet, unhurried. One-to-one yoga therapy sessions are built around what you can actually manage, and they work alongside whatever care you already have in place. No experience needed. No flexibility required. No expectation that you arrive feeling better than you do.
The first step is just a conversation — a free 15-minute call, and you can decide from there. Link in the first comment. 🌿

Something we think is worth saying plainly: there's a lot we don't do.
We don't diagnose. We don't treat depression or anxiety. We're not psychologists, and we don't pretend the things we teach can replace therapy or medication for anyone who needs them.
What we do is narrower, and we think that's a strength. We teach breath, movement and rest — practices with a long tradition behind them and a growing evidence base — to people who are already getting the care they need and want something gentle to do in the spaces between. We take a full history. We work within whatever your doctor has advised. And if someone comes to us who needs more than we can offer, we say so and point them back to their GP.
Knowing the edges of your scope isn't a limitation. It's part of the care. 🌿

On the days when everything feels like too much, the smallest practice is the right one.
Try this, sitting in any chair:
• 1. Put both feet flat on the floor. Feel the whole sole, heel to toe.
• 2. Let your hands rest heavy in your lap.
• 3. Breathe out a little longer than you breathe in. Six rounds.
• 4. That's it. That's the whole practice.
This isn't a fix, and it isn't meant to be. It's a way of reminding a tired nervous system where the ground is. Two minutes, no mat, no changing your clothes. Some days that's the achievable thing, and the achievable thing is worth doing.

If you live with IBS-type digestive trouble or migraine, you already know the drill: manage the triggers, mind the sleep, watch the stress. Your GP and specialists lead that care — and yoga therapy can work quietly alongside it. In one-to-one sessions we build a short, personalised practice around calming breath, gentle movement and proper rest — the things that support a settled nervous system. No heroics, no headstands, no promises of cures — just steady, evidence-informed support that fits your week.
If that sounds like the kind of help you’ve been looking for, the first conversation is free — a 15-minute discovery call, no obligation. Link in the first comment.

People sometimes ask how we came to teach. The honest answer: slowly, and we’re still learning. Both of us trained in the Sri Sri School of Yoga lineage — a living tradition where yoga is practised as a whole discipline: movement, breath, meditation and how you live between practices. From there came years of further study to become Yoga Australia Registered Level 2 Teachers and Yoga Therapists, and the ongoing work of reading the research and refining what we offer.
We built an eight-mat studio at home in Darch on purpose. Small enough that we know your name, your body and what you’re working with. Tradition at the roots, evidence in the method, and a quiet room where both can do their work.

Your gut listens to your mind — far more than most of us realise. If a stressful week ties your tummy in knots, try this two-minute practice:
• 1. Sit comfortably. Rest one hand on your belly, one on your chest.
• 2. Breathe in gently through the nose for 4 counts, letting the belly rise.
• 3. Breathe out slowly for 6 counts, letting the belly soften.
• 4. Repeat for six rounds — about two minutes.
A longer exhale is one of the simplest signals we can send the nervous system that it’s safe to rest and digest. Evidence-informed, gentle, and doable at your desk. Which do you notice first when stress builds — your shoulders or your tummy?

If movement has felt out of reach lately — because of pain, fatigue, or a body that flares when you push it — we’d love to have a conversation before you ever step on a mat. Our free 15-minute Discovery Call is exactly that: a relaxed chat about where you’re at, what you’ve tried, and whether yoga therapy could support you alongside your current care. No obligation, and absolutely no expectation that you’re flexible, fit or well. Perth northern suburbs locals: sessions run from our quiet home studio in Darch — never more than eight mats, and for therapy, usually just you.

Some weeks, the bravest practice is the gentlest one. A pattern we see often in the studio (details blended for privacy): someone arrives having tried everything — gym programs, boot camps, pushing through — because that’s what worked before the pain arrived. The turning point is rarely a new pose. It’s the moment they’re given permission to do less: bolster under the knees, blanket over the hips, an exhale a little longer than the inhale. Nothing heroic. And week by week, a body that braced against movement starts to trust it again. That’s why our studio holds only eight mats, and why every yoga therapy journey starts with listening, not lunging. Gentle isn’t the easy option. Sometimes it’s the skilful one.
