📣 HWLAC AGM REMINDER & COMMITTEE ROLES SUMMARY 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is tomorrow night - Monday 31st August 7pm, and we are gearing up for another fantastic season at High Wycombe Little Athletics Club!

Over the past few days, we’ve spotlighted the vital volunteer positions that keep our athletes running, jumping, throwing, and smiling. It takes a passionate community behind the scenes to make every season a success, and we would love for YOU to join our friendly team!

Here is a quick recap of all the committee roles available for the upcoming season:

🏆 Executive Leadership
⭐️President: Lead the committee, chair meetings, and guide the club's overall vision.
⭐️Vice President: Support the President, assist with club matters, and step in to lead meetings when needed.
⭐️Secretary: Manage club correspondence, organize agendas/minutes, and keep official registers.
⭐️Treasurer: Oversee club finances, maintain accurate books, and prepare annual financial reports.

👟 Coaching & Athlete Operations
⭐️Coach: Plan and deliver training schedules, guide youth athletes, and encourage parent involvement.
⭐️Registrar: Manage athlete registrations, shirt orders, and member details.
⭐️Club Manager: Coordinate competition day rosters, handle athlete protests, and oversee matchday site setup.

📊 Specialist & Support Roles
⭐️Records & Rankings Officer: Track athlete competition results, personal bests, badges, and end-of-season awards.
⭐️Equipment Officer: Oversee gear setup and pack-down at training and maintain equipment containers.
⭐️Fundraising Officer: Plan fundraising events, apply for sports grants, and manage sponsor relationships.
⭐️Club Delegates (2 Positions): Represent HWLAC at central BLAC meetings and advocate for our club.

🎉 BIG NEWS FROM DAEGU! 🎉

Huge congratulations to our very own Magnificent Mark Maslen, who is officially taking on the world at the 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea!

In an absolute showcase of grit and class, Mark has qualified for the M50 1500m Final!

Mark hits the track for the final today at 3:00 PM AWST. What he’s achieved already is a massive testament to his relentless dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport. He is a stellar example of what’s possible and a true inspiration to everyone in our community.

Let’s all send our strongest energy, cheers, and support over to South Korea this afternoon. We are backing you all the way, Mark—go bring it home!

📣WIND UP - IMPORTANT INFO - CHANGE OF VENUE

Hey members, I’m sure you’ve all seen the weather prediction for the weekend.

As a result we’ve taken the steps to change the location for Saturdays wind up just to be safe.

Please check Heja app for details.

Start and finish times will remain the same. There is an oval that the room opens out onto so if it’s not raining the kids can get outside and play.

🎉 New Equipment for Our Athletes! 🎉

We’re excited to share that High Wycombe Little Athletics Club was able to purchase some much-needed equipment this season to support our athletes, coaches and volunteers throughout the season.

With over 50 young athletes participating, this new equipment helped improve the safety, efficiency and enjoyment of our weekly training sessions. It meant more opportunities for our athletes to participate, develop their skills and continue building their love of athletics. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

This equipment was made possible through a $10,000 investment from the WA Government, supporting grassroots sport and community participation.

We are incredibly grateful for the support and look forward to seeing our athletes benefit from the new equipment for many seasons to come.

What a huge weekend at the WA State Junior Track & Field Championships – and we couldn’t be prouder of our senior athletes who stepped up and gave it everything on the big stage.

A massive congratulations to Olivia, Leo, Hannah, Sam, Charlie, Jake and Phoenix on representing our club and Belmont at the W.A. State Championships. Competing at this level takes dedication, resilience and courage and you all did us proud.

✨ Special congratulations to Olivia on an outstanding performance in the U18 Girls Discus — bringing home 🥉 Bronze with a massive 4m PB and qualifying for Nationals! An incredible achievement and so well deserved.
