What a fantastic week of movement, fun and learning with our toddlers and kindies! πŸ’™

This week, Coach Matias had the children bouncing, throwing, catching, rolling and shooting their way through an exciting Basketball session. πŸ€

We kicked things off with a fun game of Hide and Seek with the Dots, encouraging the children to explore, move, react and work together. We then challenged our bodies with different balance statues β€” from Ninjas πŸ₯· to Superheroes πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ and Ballerinas 🩰 β€” building strength, stability and whole-body control.

The children then put their basketball skills to the test, practising bouncing, catching, rolling, throwing and shooting while developing confidence and coordination along the way.

Through playful movement, our little athletes were building important Physical Literacy skills including:
✨ Stability & Balance
✨ Reaction Time
✨ Coordination
✨ Motor Skills
✨ Self-Regulation
✨ Confidence
✨ Engagement & Enjoyment

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, big efforts and growing confidence throughout the session! πŸ’ͺ😊

TAG Sports Fun at Atlantis Outside School Care Alkimos!

This week for TAG Sports, the children enjoyed another energetic and confidence building week of skipping. Their skills are growing so quickly, and it’s been wonderful to see how proud they are of themselves. They’ve been playing lots of skipping games, including Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear Turn Around, reciting the alphabet, and counting to see who can reach the highest number.

There has been so much positive engagement, teamwork and laughter, a beautiful reminder of how active play supports coordination, rhythm, confidence and social connection.

This week at Atlantis Outside School Care Alkimos, our TAG Sports sessions have been all about skipping, both individually and in groups with the large ropes. The children have been reciting the alphabet while skipping, racing in to do a jump before running out, and creating their own fun challenges together.

Skipping supports coordination, fitness, teamwork, and confidence, while helping children build rhythm, balance and social skills through active play.

This week at Atlantis Outside School Care Alkimos, our TAG Sports sessions with Coach Niel were full of energy, teamwork and plenty of laughs!

For our first session, the children practised vortex throwing, starting with a target challenge to see who could land their vortex in the bucket from different distances. Once they mastered that, the friendly competitions began, everyone was determined to see who could throw theirs the furthest! It was amazing to watch their confidence grow as they worked on hand eye coordination, aim and strength.

Our second session was a huge hit: dodgeball on the school basketball courts! The children selected their own teams and jumped straight into fast paced games full of movement, strategy and teamwork. Dodgeball is fantastic for building agility and spatial awareness, and the children had an absolute blast.

TAG Sports continues to help our children develop physical skills, resilience, cooperation and confidence, all while having fun with their friends.

We can’t wait for next week’s sessions!

It has been amazing to see everyone's enthusiasm and confidence continue to grow, with children encouraging and supporting one another every step of the way! βš½πŸ™Œ

We also kept preparing for our Fitness Challenge, practicing each of the activities ahead of our first testing day next Thursday. The children showed fantastic determination as they pushed themselves to improve their fitness and beat their own personal bests. πŸ’ͺπŸ…

We can't wait for another fun-filled week of learning, moving, and growing together! πŸ’™πŸ’›

TAG Sports at Atlantis OSHC Alkimos

This week for TAG Sports, our children continued their athletic journey with a focus on long jump and sack races.

To build long jump confidence, we played a fun skills‑based game using hula hoops placed flat in the sand. The children challenged themselves to see which hoop they could reach, practising balance, coordination and safe landing techniques. Sack races added plenty of laughter while supporting leg strength, teamwork and resilience.

These activities help children develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, confidence and a love for physical movement , all while having a great time.

Tag Sports at Tall Tree Early Learning Subiaco!

Kaya Families,

During our recent Tag Sports sessions, the children have been learning the fundamental skills of AFL in a fun and engaging way.

Throughout the program, the children practised how to handball by using the correct fist technique and aiming towards a partner or target. They also developed their kickingskills, learning how to position the ball, make contact with their foot, and improve their balance and coordination. These activities supported the development of gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, body awareness, and confidence as the children continued to practise and refine their movements.

To finish our sessions, we enjoyed playing Statues, where the children moved in different ways before freezing when the signal was given. This game encouraged active listening, self-regulation, body control, and the ability to follow instructions while having lots of fun.

The physical literacy elements that were focused on today were Agility, Coordination, Motor Skills, Object Manipulation, Self-Regulation, Confidence.

Throughout our AFL experiences, the children demonstrated excellent teamwork, persistence, turn-taking, and encouragement towards their peers. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as they developed new skills, challenged themselves, and celebrated each other's achievements.

Our Coach this week was Coach Ella!

Tag Sports at Tall Tree Early Learning Landsdale!

Kaya Families,

During our recent Tag Sports sessions, the children have been developing their soccer skills through a range of fun and engaging activities.

The children practised their kicking skills by learning how to control the ball, use the inside of their foot for accuracy, and aim towards a target. They then had the opportunity to build on these skills through goal shooting, where they focused on kicking with purpose and celebrating each successful goal. These experiences helped strengthen their balance, coordination, gross motor skills, and confidence.

One of the children's favourite games was Shark in the Middle, where they had to run and make it to the other side of the grass, while avoiding the "shark." This game encouraged teamwork, communication, quick decision-making, while also promoting problem-solving and spatial awareness in a fun and active environment.

The physical literacy elements that were focused on were Motor skills, Engagement & enjoyment, Reaction time, Movement with equipment, Agility, Confidence, Collaboration.
Throughout our soccer sessions, the children demonstrated persistence, resilience, and excellent sportsmanship as they encouraged one another, took turns, and celebrated each other's achievements. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and skills continue to grow as they explored the fundamentals of soccer through play.
