Meet Angel β one of our junior coaches. πββοΈ
In this one she shares why she loves coaching, and why giving surfing a go is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Watching our younger coaches grow into confident, stoked mentors is one of our favourite parts of running a surf school in Perth.

Blue skies, crystal blue water, good people. There's no better classroom than the ocean π Book your lesson and we'll see you out there.
Winter surf season is here β and staying warm is the difference between one wave and a whole session. βοΈπ
We've kitted out our coaches and customers in wetsuits from β an independent surf brand making some of the warmest, comfiest suits going around (Yamamoto neoprene, fast-dry thermal lining, the lot). Toasty in the Indian Ocean, even on a fresh Freo morning.
Come try one on, or book a winter lesson and feel the difference for yourself. π

Leighton Beach has been absolutely stunning lately. ππ
Since the big June storm, we've had clean easterly winds pushing through and some beautiful small waves β the kind of conditions that make learning to surf a pure joy. The drone shots don't lie!
The flip side? The continued fine weather and small surf means the sandbars have been shortening and the waves are creeping back closer to the beach. Not ideal for lessons long-term.
But don't worry β Mother Nature has a fix coming. There's a decent storm rolling in this weekend which means we'll be taking a couple of days off (no lessons Saturday or Sunday), but once it passes we'll have freshly built sandbars and quality waves just in time for the school holidays. π€
Worth the wait. Book your school holiday lesson now so you're ready to go when the swell delivers π

Ever wondered why we pack up the van and move from Scarborough to Leighton Beach every winter? ππ
It's not random β there's actually a really good reason behind it, and it makes a big difference to the quality of your surf lesson. We've just written a full blog post explaining the why behind our seasonal switch, covering conditions, wind, waves and what it means for beginners.
If you've ever been curious, it's worth a read π

Did you know winter is actually one of the best times for kids to learn to surf in Perth? π
The morning onshore winds haven't kicked in yet, the afternoon sessions at Leighton Beach are sheltered, and the Indian Ocean stays surprisingly mild. Honestly, it's perfect for beginners.
That's why we run our after school surf program right through Term 3 β and our dates are now live! If your kid has been keen to give surfing a go, this is the easiest way to get them started. Small groups, qualified instructors, and all the fun of Friday arvo at the beach. π€

Winter surfing at Leighton Beach is something else. π
The Indian Ocean in June? Way more fun than it sounds. We had kids and adults in the water today at our North Fremantle base β all of them ripping it up, smiling ear to ear, and wondering why they didn't try this sooner.
If you've been putting off a lesson, don't wait for summer. This is what Perth winters are made for. Book your lesson through the link below π
