A chilly one on Freshwater Bay!
It was a bitterly cold afternoon for the 18 boats that headed out for today’s Magic Hand Carwash Midweek Winter Series Race 19.
With the temperature only managing to peak at 16°C at 4:07pm, there was certainly no mistaking that we are still in the middle of winter! We suspect the thought of a warm Clubhouse, a drink and a catch-up with fellow sailors after racing was never too far from anyone’s mind.
Despite the cold, it was great to see the committed crews out on the water enjoying their Thursday afternoon racing.
A big thank you to our Midweek Winter Series sponsor, Magic Car Wash, for their continued support of this popular series. We are very grateful to have you on board.
As always, our racing simply wouldn’t happen without the wonderful people behind the scenes. Thank you to our Race Management and Start Team and all of our volunteers who gave up their time — and braved the cold — to make sure everyone else could get out and enjoy an afternoon on the water. Your contribution each week is very much appreciated. 👏
