Your loyalty and dedication to Club and teammates is fantastic to see and much appreciated by everyone involved. Good luck for the remainder of the season, including Top 4 Finals which promises to end a great season for the team⚽

⚽The drama at Yokine ROS for DJSC continues.

Further to the post on Monday regarding the unscheduled building works adjacent to Junior Pitch C rendering that pitch unplayable, and the resultant chaos on Junior Pitch A, imagine our surprise when we arrived at Yokine ROS yesterday to see that the proposed Shot Put Circle works had commenced behind Junior Pitch B.

It was recognised and agreed with City of Stirling that due to the proximity of the Long Jump Pits and Javelin & Discus throwing areas to Junior Pitches A and C, those pitches along with Junior Pitch B would be relocated 5 meters south for Season 2027. It was also agreed that the proposed Shot Put circles in the middle of Yokine ROS would be moved 5 meters south allowing for Junior Pitches A, B and C to be relocated.

Unfortunately, as you will see in the pictures below, the Shot Put Circles have not been moved south. If the building continues as is, the Shot Put Circle directly behind the current goal will be positioned in the middle of Junior Pitch B's relocated Goal Area in 2027.

We expect an immediate response from City of Stirling and will keep our members posted as we look to finish Season 2026 with as little inconvenience as possible for our Junior (U13 to U18s) squads.

⚽DJSC would like to apologise to the visiting Junior coaches and supporters from Kingsley Westside FC and Swan Utd FC on Sunday, as we were forced to shoehorn them alongside Pitch A due to the ongoing building works at Yokine ROS.

Despite being re-assured by City of Stirling that works would not commence on the javelin throw alongside Pitch C, until the completion of the long jump pits adjacent to Pitch A, construction on the javelin throw has started, rendering Pitch C unplayable as the building work is within 1 meter of the touchline and encroaches inside the Technical Areas.

Matches have to be moved to Pitch A, despite the long jump pits still being built. This unfortunately means we have spectators on top of the Technical Areas, which is disappointing for a club that prides itself on offering all teams a safe and friendly environment to play junior sport.

With the scheduling of a further 5 matches on Pitch A this season, plus the possibility of hosting Top 4 semi-finals, we will do what we can to accommodate everyone at Yokine ROS⚽

⚽Massive congratulations to U16s players Sebastian, Mason and Damon who celebrated playing 200 games, and Cameron who celebrated playing 100 games for DJSC on Sunday. Such displays of loyalty are very rare in today's community football, so we really appreciate the support of the players, families and friends for their local community club. The boys were joined by their teammates when running through the banner ahead of kick-off. Rest assured coaches Josh and Akash did not join in the banner run⚽

DJSC is a community club that strives to bring the joy and keep the fun in football across every age group. Let's remember that we are unlikely to see the next "Messi" or "Kerr" on Sunday at Yokine ROS, but we will definitely see a reserve full of kids trying their hardest, along with their team mates to play the game the right way. Let's embrace those efforts and support everyone, regardless of their team.

In the run into the end of the season, now is a good time to remind everyone that DJSC supporters' behaviour on the touchline is key to ensuring matches are played in a safe and welcoming environment. There are simply no circumstances that justify anyone behaving in an unseemly way. Not only will you make a fool of yourself, more importantly you will embarrass your own child and all of their teammates on and off the pitch.

Whether you are playing at home or away and regardless of the sport, have fun everyone playing and watching junior sport this weekend. Go well⚽
