Try your hand at SWORDFIGHTING with a ladies only introductory sword fighting class. These classes offer an opportunity to learn swordplay in a women’s only environment with a great instructor to participant ratio. After the session you will have the basics down pat so you have an idea of what to expect in our regular classes.

Our women’s introduction to sword fighting classes were recently showcased on the WA Girls Social Space (WAGSS) website.

WAGSS is a vibrant community dedicated to creating genuine connections between women while celebrating and supporting local businesses across WA and beyond. Sunday
🔹9:00-10:30am Source Interpretation 📚🤓
A little bit about these sessions:
- Fundamentals: aimed at all levels. Great if you’re just starting out or are experienced and looking to perfect your skills
- Fighting fit: work out session aimed at improving your swordfighting fitness
- Friday Night Fight Night: Open floor session. Come along in full gear for sparring, or bring a book to learn, or find a study buddy to get ready for grading.
- Source interpretation: aka book club. Learn how to interpret the old texts into 1337 sword fighting skills.
- Competitive Longsword. You know the theory, now learn how to apply it when a medal is on the line. This session also covers how to facilitate and adjudicate tournaments.
- Longsword advanced. Your fundamentals are squared away and you want something more. A trick up you sleeve, or another way to apply what you already know.
- Sabre: we teach Sabre in two different styles, British and Polish. We all know Sabre is the best weapon.
- Messer: one handed sword
- Sword and buckler: like messer but with a tiny shield in your other hand
- Cane: learn how to fight like a gentleman
Next semester’s classes:
- Dagger: 1400’s Italian dagger fighting. Worth coming to just to hear the bad Italian pronunciation.
- Ringen: want to know what to do if you’re sword fighting but end up too close?

Today we hosted our internal simple-hilt tournament - giving our crew a chance to appreciate early swords and their systems of use.

These classes offer an opportunity to learn a martial art in a women’s only environment with a great instructor to participant ratio. After 1.5hrs you will be familiar with holding a sword, so you can decide if you’re keen to join our co-ed sessions.

Our next sessions are Saturday:

⚔️ 29 August - Sisters who Sabre
⚔️ 26 September - Ladies who Longsword

⏰ Time: 1pm-2:30pm
