Queensland Champion in the Gi. Gold medal. You earned it.

In No-Gi, you were putting on another incredible performance. Winning 6-0, taking your opponent’s back, just seconds away from finishing the match. Unfortunately, your injured foot got trapped, and the pain forced you to stop.

That’s not a defeat. Sometimes, the toughest battles happen before the biggest victories.

Now it’s time to heal, recover, and come back even stronger.

Our goal is clear: the World Championship next year.

Today I had the privilege of promoting someone who started this journey with me as a white belt many years ago.

Years of hard work, loyalty, consistency, ups and downs, and countless hours on the mats. Through every stage, he stayed true to the team and never lost sight of the goal.

A black belt is more than a rank. It’s a reflection of character, perseverance, and commitment.

Proud of you, brother. Thank you for trusting the process and representing our team the right way all these years.

Classes are led by Professor Fabio Nunes — IBJJF 6th Degree Black Belt, Physical Education teacher graduated from Gama Filho University, and a lifelong martial artist who has been training Jiu-Jitsu since the age of 8. Now at 51 years old, that’s over 40 years dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
