Next up we have Andrew Souvertjis from @265motorsport in the menacing BMW 1M WAPC: What got you into racing, and how did you end up in production cars? AS: Always been obsessed with cars in any way shape or form... But I blame one of my Uncles who's as much a muscle car fanatic as I am about engines and all things engines and engineering... It started with his Plymouth Road Runner and grew from there...as a young person seeing the road runner as the emblem on a car was always going to stick and then like others the golden era of touring cars, F1 and later golden era of supercars the obsession was always there WAPC: Tell us about your car – what makes it special or a bit of a handful on track? AS: Current car is the BMW 1M Coupe... Special as it has a heap of back story from it being pre sold then written off by a top gear Australia journalist at the press release day, to Beric Lynton turning into the homologation car for the 1M to its long history in production racing with a class win at the 12hr, 2 x championships and multiple entries at the 6hr and being 1 of 301 and no 679 of the 6000 made is pretty cool. WAPC: What’s your favourite Aussie track and why? AS: Bathurst with SMP a close second... Have driven both... Bathurst is what everyone will say... SMP for turn 1, the downhill run into 4 and the exits with the curbs and the commitment riding up over the curbs WAPC: Got any pre-race rituals, superstitions, or must-have snacks? AS: Just getting into all the kit is ritual enough... Pre race toilet stop a must... And the obligatory tighten down of the shoulder straps WAPC: What’s been your most memorable moment on track so far AS: An epic race meet against Andy Stevens in Street cars... He was driving Brents Skyline I was in mine both cars were pretty even... And we battled it out at the front all day was epic!!! Best racing so far!! WAPC: What’s your race number, is there a story behind how you picked it? AS: Officially 26 or 265... My birthday numbers have always raced with those numbers, 26 is my lucky number for a many a reason WAPC: Who are your sponsors or supporters, give them a shoutout?
