Myth-busting for chronic pain:
Rest is best - FALSE. Gentle, guided movement restores strength and mobility.
Massage helps short-term - PARTLY TRUE. Combined with exercise, it becomes a powerful tool for lasting change.
I blend hands-on massage with tailored exercise to reduce pain, improve daily function and cut reliance on passive treatments. Ready to move more with less pain? Book a consult with me in Kinross WA - Link in bio. 💙🤝🏃♀️🧘♂️

Is it your brain telling you to stop exercising because of pain or past injury, or is your body really telling you something?
Most times your brain is protective of you and it helps to understand the different types of pain.
Understanding Muscle Stiffness Pain vs Muscle Damage Pain and How Movement Can Alleviate Discomfort
Muscle pain is a common experience for many people, especially those who exercise or start new physical activities. However, not all muscle pain is the same. At Knight and Kay I use targeted massage to help you move easier and feel steadier. Two techniques I often combine:
• Myofascial release - eases chronic tension by reducing muscle guarding and restoring gentle tissue glide. Best for long‑standing stiffness that limits daily tasks.
• Trigger point work - releases tight knots that refer pain and speeds recovery from post‑exercise soreness.
Every plan is tailored so I choose the right approach for you. I focus on improved function - getting you up stairs, into the garden, or through your day with less effort and reducing pain.

Good morning from Knight and Kay. Lets get you ready for the day ahead.
Start gently: sit at the edge of your bed, take three slow breaths, then march your feet in place for 30–60 seconds to wake your hips and calm morning stiffness.
Try a seated pelvic tilt next — 8–10 slow repetitions — to ease low back tension and support safer movement through the day.
I choose simple, repeatable steps you can do from home with minimal pain. How does your morning routine feel today? Share one small win below 🧡🤍🌅🏡

Gentle movement can make daily life easier. Try this mini routine at home to build stability, ease pain and feel more confident with transfers.
1) Seated march — purpose: improve hip stability and blood flow. Start slow; I add hold time as you get stronger.
2) Side leg lift (chair support) — purpose: challenge balance and hip strength. Use the back of a chair and progress from small lifts to higher range.
3) Heel-to-toe stand — purpose: retrain balance and reduce wobble when standing or walking. Hold for short bursts and increase duration as tolerated.
I personalise each step at Knight and Kay, progressing only when you’re ready and keeping safety top of mind.
Outcomes you can expect: steadier transfers, less reliance on help, and reduced pain with movement. If you live in Kinross WA, Australia and want a tailored plan, link in bio to learn more and book a safe, progressive program with me.
