WHY YOU’RE ACTUALLY NOT IN A DEFICIT 👀
You say you’re in a calorie deficit, but are you really?
A few sneaky things that can easily push you out of one:
👉 Weekend blowouts
A few extra drinks, takeaway meals and snacks can undo an entire week’s deficit
👉 “Healthy” extras
Peanut butter, olive oil, nuts, protein bars and smoothies all add up quickly
👉 Eyeballing portions
What looks like 1 serving is often 2–3 servings
👉 Rewarding workouts with food
“Because I trained today” can become an extra 500+ calories without realising
👉 Not tracking liquid calories
Alcohol, juices, soft drinks and fancy coffees count too
👉 Moving less than you think
If your steps have dropped, your calorie burn may have too
Before cutting calories lower, take an honest look at your consistency first… are you actually being honest with your tracking? Are you intentionally moving your body throughout the day to support total daily movement?

This year, our client Ethan took on the 21.1km half marathon for the Heart Foundation, finishing in an incredible 2 hours at a 5:42/km pace 🙌
But the reason behind the run is what makes this even more special…
Ethan’s younger brother Mason was born extremely premature at just 24 weeks and was born with a hole in his heart, requiring multiple surgeries early in life. During that time, the Heart Foundation provided support to Mason and Ethan’s family through the long hospital days, from toys for Mason to coffees and lunches for his parents while they navigated such a challenging season.
This run was Ethan’s way of giving back to an organisation that supported his family when they needed it most ❤️
We’re so proud to have people like Ethan in our community, showing that fitness can be about so much more than physical results!
An amazing effort for an even more amazing reason 👏

The what, the why & the when 👏🏼
Progressive overload can sound complicated, but it’s really just about gradually improving over time, not completely changing your training every week.
More weight isn’t the only sign of progress either… better form, improved control & feeling more confident in your lifts all matter too 💪

Mondays at Prime Bodies are all about getting stronger 💪
Our Monday sessions follow a structured 4-week strength program where members track their lifts each week and focus on progressive overload, helping them build confidence, improve technique, and see real progress over time!
Over the last 4 weeks we’ve seen:
• Deadlifts & squats increase by 10–15kg
• Huge improvements in confidence and lifting technique
• Members lifting weights they never thought they could
• Consistent progress across all strength movements
The best part is watching people go from nervous around weights to confidently walking up to the barbell each week 💪
