JALAYIMIYA CASTING CALL
We've already found our size 12 model after sharing this opportunity exclusively with our Jalayimiya's Jijas Facebook group first. Now we're opening the search publicly for our second model.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
1 x AU SIZE 16 MODEL
This shoot will create a new collection of clean, consistent studio product imagery for the Jalayimiya website.
Unlike our usual campaign shoots, these images will be very product-focused. Think simple studio backdrop, minimal mannequin-style posing & clear views that allow our customers to really see the fit, shape & details of each piece.
You'll be modelling a selection of Jalayimiya clothing & swimwear, so you must be comfortable being photographed in both.
REQUIREMENTS:
โข Generally wear an AU size 16
โข No visible tattoos
โข Comfortable modelling swimwear & clothing
โข Comfortable in front of the camera
โข Available on a weekday, preferably during school hours, with flexibility to potentially be available for the full day
โข Perth based or able to attend the Perth shoot location
โข No professional modelling experience required
Hair, makeup & styling will all be taken care of on the day.
REMUNERATION
This is a product-remunerated shoot. You'll receive Jalayimiya clothing worn on the day as remuneration.
Professional makeup will also be provided & paid for, with makeup products able to form part of the remuneration package.
If this sounds like you, please send us a DM with your usual clothing size, a recent full-length photo & your general weekday availability.
P.S. Want first dibs next time?
Our Jijas heard about this opportunity before anyone else & that's where we found our size 12 model. Join our Jalayimiya's Jijas Facebook group for first access to opportunities like this, Jija-only perks, new-release previews & all the good stuff before we share it publicly.

A little stock update from Jalayimiya HQ
Our DAAF stock has officially made it home from Darwin, everything has been unpacked, counted & our online stock has now been topped back up!
So if you've been waiting for your size to reappear in one of our current styles, NOW is a very good time to have another look.
A few important updates while we're here...
๐ NIMIRTI DENIM
You guys are absolutely chewing through the remaining denim
Some sizes are already getting very low or completely SOLD OUT to the point I have had to refund orders due to oversell, BUT a restock is officially on the way and we're introducing smaller sizes with it.
We don't have a confirmed arrival date just yet, but we'll share it as soon as we do.
๐ TWO BIKINI STYLES ARE LEAVING
We've also officially decided to retire our Mungaila Triangle Top & Yungamul High-Waist Brief.
We gave these silhouettes one final run with NAIDOC & you've shown us pretty clearly where you want Jalayimiya swim to go next.
We'll be focusing more on the swim styles you love, including supportive silhouettes, tankinis, sculpting shorts & our best selling reversible styles.
The remaining Mungaila + Yungamul pieces are now 50% OFF for their FINAL RUN.
Once they're gone, they're gone. No restocks.
And now that DAAF is officially unpacked & August is wrapping up...
we're getting ready for what's next.
New silhouettes. New drops. Spring/summer Jalayimiya incoming.

Our first Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair gave us an incredible 4 days. It introduced Jalayimiya to a whole new market, gave us invaluable insight into what you all love & confirmed what we already knew.
Our distinct signature Nakarra silhouette was a clear favourite, our Nimirti Denim Pant became our #1 individual style & more than 200 customers shopped Jalayimiya across the four days.
One of my favourite parts was seeing and hearing about Jalayimiya everywhere. At Country to Couture, the NIFAs, the NIMAs, around DAAF & throughout Darwin. On iur final night at our little celebration dinner we saw a lady wearing it out at the wharf.
A huge thank you to every single person who visited our booth, shopped with us, tried something on, came back with a friend, stopped for a yarn or told us they already owned a Jalayimiya piece.
A huge thank you also to Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair & Indigenous Fashion Projects for creating spaces where First Nations fashion, art & design can be seen, celebrated & supported.
Finally, we acknowledge the Larrakia people, the Traditional Owners of the land and waters where we had the privilege of gathering, working & celebrating this past week.
Darwin, you were very good to us.
Until next time.
