2027 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Falcon GT.
It all started in 1967 with the release of the XR GT, almost exclusively in the colour GT GOLD, it combined American Muscle car influence with Australian practicality.
An estimated 684 cars were produced in 1967-68 with a price tag of $3890, powered by a 289 Winsor up to November 1967 followed by a 302 Windsor from then.
October 1967 marked the first Bathurst win with Fred Gibson and Harry Firth combining to take the checkered flag, kick starting the GT dynasty.
We would love to celebrate the XR GT at the 21ST Falcon GT Nationals- we just need someone to bring one!
