When I started AN recovery I was adamant that I would recover by gaining 5-8 kg maximum and I would do it only eating โhealthyโ foods that I allowed myself to have. But recovery is about actually recovering, itโs about letting go of made up rules, learning to listen to your body and its needs, re-programming our brain by teaching it that all foods are completely safe, weight gain is safe and healing is possible. This is a reminder for those struggling with body image and suppressing their weight (especially now that skinny culture is trending again), that a healthy, nourished & fuelled body will support a much happier, healthier and vibrant life than a restricted body.
