Hey divers,
We’re building a small local-island dive stay concept in Kelaa, far north Maldives.
The idea is simple: organised Maldives dive escapes for divers who want something more authentic than the overpriced resorts, reefs full of marine life and no other divers, local island life, full-board guesthouse stays, small groups and proper dive support.
The guest house and dive centre are still in development, so we’re not taking bookings yet as we plan to open 31st Oct 2026. We’re building an early interest list for future Salt & Compass Kelaa trips.
If far north Maldives diving, local island stays and small-group travel sounds like your kind of trip, follow along or message us to register interest. You won't be disapointed.

It may be unusually wet but feeling very optimistic 🤿
Monsoon season has started in the Maldives, but this doesn’t stop the diving. Great to be invited by Holiday Home Kelaa Maldives to visit Kelaa island in the far north.
Just off Filladhoo Island lies a sunken Japanese cargo ship, now transformed into a thriving underwater world bursting with marine life. Explore the wreck as schools of fish weave through its structure, while nearby manta rays glide gracefully through a natural cleaning station — an unforgettable dive experience in the northern Maldives.
This Black Sailfin Catfish is endemic to Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. Lucky to have spotted t.
Nothing compares to the effortless grace of a Manta ray gliding by.
Everywhere you look in the north Maldives atoll of Haa Alifu you see large schools of Blue Striped Snapper 🤿👌
