Congratulations, Lucy! Well deserved!

The 2025/26 PNSW Junior Paddler of the Year is Lucy Casserley from Western Sydney Whitewater Club.

Lucy’s progression in canoe slalom has been remarkable. In under three years since first starting, she has advanced through three pathway squads, from the Junior Development Squad to the National Development Squad, and has now earned selection on the 2026 Australian Junior Team ranking Top Female Junior.

Her achievements during the nomination period include:
• 2026 Nationals – 5th overall in both Canoe and Kayak (1st U18)
• 2026 Age Nationals – WK1: 2nd U18 (3rd overall); WC1: 1st U18 (2nd overall)
• 2026 Australian Open – 1st U18 in both Kayak and Canoe
• 2026 Penrith Open – WC1: 2nd U18; WK1: 3rd U18
• 2025 Victorian State Championships – WC1: 1st U18; WK1: 2nd U18
• 2025 NSW State Championships – WK1: 4th U18; WC1: 5th U18

We anticipate a wonderful career ahead for Lucy.
