Two of the finest open sides the game has produced. Both defined as much by what they stood for as what they scored. Richie McCaw led the All Blacks to back-to-back Rugby World Cup victories with a consistency and quiet authority that the game has rarely seen. David Pocock brought that same intensity to the Wallabies for over a decade — and then took it to the Australian Senate, where he has continued to ask the hard questions with exactly the same precision he showed at the breakdown.

***HEXAGON GAME 7- Wahroonga Toothless Tigers - Oldies rugby***

Thanks to Wahroonga for hosting the season finale of the 2026 Hexagon Rugby series at Cliff Oval on Friday night.

Including a resurgent Tigers team we had over 75 players take the field in front of an enthusiastic crowd and balcony full of supporters.

After a 2 year absence our return to this great venue was a fitting salute to the efforts of Jonathan Handschuh and the Tigers family. We look forward to welcoming many of their players to our games next year.

Games were followed by drinks and speeches and talk of the Curry night and Bathurst tour.

THE FINALE - Game 7 of the 2026 Hexagon Rugby will be hosted by Wahroonga Toothless Tigers - Oldies rugby on Friday 21st August at CLIFF OVAL, North Wahroonga.

The Toothless Tigers will be in the clubhouse from 6:30pm to welcome all players from all Hexagon Clubs. Games start at 7:15pm due to an earlier junior game.

After a great season this will be our last Friday night game of 2026 and mark our return to Cliff Oval after a 2 years absence.

As ever, Wives/partners and kids are all welcome to join in the fun and watch this game under lights.

Food will be available at the canteen and there will also be a BBQ.

All players must be registered for insurance purposes, please contact your club captain for rego details. This includes anyone making a home game cameo.

***HEXAGON RUGBY GOLF DAY***

Due to growing success of the Hexagon Barbarians Bathurst Tour we have decided to offer a golf day on the Friday before the Bathurst RugbyFest.

The Golf will be played in the afternoon of Friday 25th September at Bathurst Golf Club with tees starting from 12:30pm.

You don’t need to be a professional to play but it’s best if you have your own clubs or you’ll need to hire them.

All Hexagon Barbarians players, and supporters are invited to join us for this social golf event and prizes will be awarded in the pub afterwards.

We will play in fourballs and the cost for 18 holes is $50 per player. Carts will be $40 per round. Rego via this link.

***HEXAGON GAME 6 - Withered Oaks Rugby Club***

Thanks to Oakhill for hosting game 6 of the 2026 Hexagon Rugby series at Dural Park on Friday night.

Over 75 players took the field on a cold night and we saw some great rugby.

Oakhill did us proud with their Steak Sangas after the game followed by drinks and speeches.

Many thanks to Dural Rugby Club for use of the facilities and the Veo recording equipment. It seems the start of the recording has somehow been corrupted but highlight (and lowlight) footage of the rest of the game will be shared with captains soon.

Thanks to all the new blokes that joined us - we hope to see you at the next game.

Round 7 will be hosted by Wahroonga Toothless Tigers - Oldies rugby on August 21st at Cliff Oval.
