Life's a beach in the bush! A volunteer organisation running a Nippers program in Central West NSW

Water safety education is something every child deserves — no matter how far they live from the coast.

For inland kids, the opportunity to learn vital surf awareness and water safety skills can be life-changing. That’s why connecting with experienced coastal clubs Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club and giving our children access to real surf education is so incredibly important.

We are especially grateful to the dedicated parents who had the vision and drive to establish Orange Bush Nippers back in 2007. Their commitment to creating opportunities for inland families laid the foundation for everything we have today. Because of their efforts, we now enjoy a strong and valued relationship with Dee Why SLSC — a partnership that allows our kids to train, grow, and build confidence in the ocean.

It truly takes a village. From the original founding families to our current parents, volunteers, and supporting clubs — thank you for continuing to make water safety education accessible, meaningful, and empowering for our inland children.

Here’s to building confident, capable and surf-smart kids — one wave at a time 🌊💛

🌊💛 Orange Bush Nippers Take on Dee Why! 💛🌊

What an incredible day at the beach for our Orange Bush Nippers! The crew hit the surf at beautiful Dee Why Beach, putting their board skills into action and building confidence in real ocean conditions.

From paddling technique to wave negotiation and surf awareness, it was fantastic to see our nippers challenging themselves, supporting each other, and embracing every salty moment. The smiles (and a few wipeouts!) say it all — growth happens outside the comfort zone! 🌊🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️

A huge thank you to Dee Why SLSC for so generously hosting our Bush Nippers and making us feel so welcome. We truly appreciate your support and the opportunity for our kids to experience the ocean in such a safe and supportive environment.

We’re so proud of our Orange Bush Nippers — future lifesavers in the making! 💪💛

🌧️🦈 Rain or shine, our Sharks show up! 🦈🌧️

Huge shoutout to our amazing Orange Bush Nippers Sharks who were on water safety duty this morning at the local interclub triathlon at Gosling Creek, proudly hosted by Orange Triathlon Club - The Piranhas. Despite the rain coming down, our team didn’t miss a beat — keeping competitors safe and showing true professionalism and community spirit.

We’re proud to support local events and local clubs, and even prouder of our members who volunteer their time to make these events possible. This is what club spirit and community support is all about 💙🧡

Well done, Sharks! 👏
