A massive congratulations to DSL athlete Marley on being named Ruck in the AFL Sydney Women’s Team of the Year.

It has been a career-best year for Marley, and it’s amazing to see her receive this recognition in the top competition in Sydney AFL.

Marley has put in the work with us at DSL on developing her strength, explosiveness and movement, and it has been fantastic to see that work translate onto the footy field. She asks questions, does the work and pushes herself to get better each session.

Personally, I’ve also been privileged to coach Marley at Prems level with the Goannas this season, which has made watching her development and performances throughout the year even more rewarding.

A well-deserved recognition for a fantastic season. We are all so proud of you, Marley. Congratulations.

Grand Finals don’t just happen. And they certainly don’t happen without umpires.

This weekend, two of our own DSL athletes played an integral part in Grand Final day.

Let’s give it up for our Team Green!

Congratulations and thank you to Skyla and Macca. Your dedication to umpiring is fantastic, and the game is better because of people like you.

We all benefit from what you do. Thank you both, and well done!

CHAMPIONS!!!
What a turn around. 2 weeks ago Victoria, Emily, Nevada and their South West Sydney teammates were beaten in a qualifying final. On Sunday they turned the tide when it mattered most. Now they are Premiers after a wonderful game in the Under 17s Youth Girls competition. Congratulations to Emily, Victoria and Nevada and their teammates on a great performance.

On Sunday Logan took to the field in his Under 13s Grand Final. Logan and his South West Sydney teammates did an amazing job and really fought hard. Unfortunately they just couldn’t get over the line. A superb season Logan. Let’s build for 2027.

The Camden Cats Under 13s Youth Girls played their Grand Final on Sunday. Imogen, Charlotte and Lacey took to the field with their teammates. They were missing Rachael who had another commitment. These girls, along with their teammates did a stellar job. Runners up is nothing to be ashamed of. Well done to all the girls in the team. A very special congratulations to the DSL Girls on a great season.

Today didn’t end the way Tammsin and her Narellan Sparrows team had hoped, but what a year it has been.

The Sparrows led at quarter time and half time before the opposition got on top in the second half. The Sparrows fought all the way, closing the deficit to just one point part way through the final quarter, but unfortunately couldn’t get over the line.

Tammsin, you have worked your backside off this year. The running, strength and conditioning, and just as importantly, the work you’ve put into your mindset have all been huge.

Regardless of the result today, we are incredibly proud of you. Congratulations on a great year and a Grand Final appearance. You’ve earned every bit of it.

Now we use today’s loss as fuel.

2027 starts now.
