Man charged over series of copper theft Cardinia
=============
Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a spate of thefts of copper from suburbs within the shire of Cardinia, between 9 May and 12 August.
It is alleged copper cabling was stolen from businesses, worksites, telecommunication pits and high voltage kiosks, impacting critical infrastructure across the municipality.
Police will allege that the value and damage caused by the offending has amounted to over $350,000 and has had significant impacts on service providers, small businesses and the local community.
Detectives attended a Pakenham address and arrested a man on 12 August.
He has been charged with 43 offences including multiple burglaries, thefts, criminal damage, possess a controlled weapon and commit an indictable offence whilst on bail. A 29-year-old Wollert man was remanded in custody and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 4 November.

This weekend at the Rob Porter Rec Reserve is all about Women’s footy!!
Head down to get a full day of footy at Officer.
Outer East Football Netball is very proud to announce our inaugural Women’s Football Gather Round!
In Round 14, Saturday July 18th, all 7 senior women’s matches will take place at Rob Porter Recreation Reserve in Officer. This full day showcase of women’s football will put a spotlight on the quality of competition in OEFN Senior Women’s Divisions, with all games filmed and two games livestreamed with commentary. All participating sides will also be provided with stats from their game, thanks to Premier Data.
The first games kick off at 10:20am. With supporting resources available for female coaches, volunteers and players, there is plenty to see and do beyond your own club’s game. We welcome everyone to come along and celebrate the strong women competing in the Outer East community.

The 2026 ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Rob Porter Recreation Reserve was very well attended by the local community.
Thank you to the volunteers who helped put this event together from the Officer & District Community Association, Officer Kangaroos Junior Football Club, CWA Officer Woorinyan and the Rob Porter Rec Reserve Committee members.

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held at the Memorial Gates Saturday 25 April commencing 6am.
Best to arrive early, patrons can enter via Starling Road and now McMullen Road as well. Follow the instructions from the volunteer parking attendants.
There is parking available along Siding Ave down to the Council Office.
The Officer Kangaroos Junior Football Club will be providing Bacon and Egg rolls, the CWA Officer Woorinyan ANZAC biscuits with tea and Coffee as well as fruit juice donated by Bellevue Farm Gate.
