Congratulations to Daniel Curnow who has been named Captain of the MYCA Representative Team for Season 2026!
Dan had a terrific season for our Sunday team, taking out the League Batting Average with 262 Runs @ 52.40 in addition to scoring two crucial half centuries during the finals series as our Sunday boys surged to premiership glory.
Good luck Dan in leading the boys in the MYCA rep game tomorrow! ππ

Congratulations again to our Mid-Year Sunday XI who on Sunday won the premiership for the third year in a row!
After losing the toss and being sent into bat, two early wickets saw us fall to 2/14 and in a spot of bother. Daniel Curnow and Robert Howes then set about steadying the ship, putting on an unbeaten partnership of 74 that ended up being the deciding factor in the match. Daniel Curnow retired on an unbeaten 52* to cap off an outstanding season with the bat that saw him be the leading run scorer in the league by a fair margin, whilst Robert Howes retired on an unbeaten 50* as he batted through the innings to provide us with much needed stability throughout. Dharmesh Patel (30*) and Chris Leutton (15*) then finished off the innings in terrific fashion, an unbeaten 48 run partnership helping push our final score to an imposing 5/199 off 35 overs.
With the ball, we never allowed our opposition to be in the hunt - early wickets setting them on the backfoot right from the start, before a steady procession of wickets and tight bowling eventually strangled them for just 96. Matt Johnson was the pick of the bowlers with 3/17 (off 7 overs), whilst Kumbu Jayasundera (2/22 off 6), Robert Howes (1/20 off 6) and Dharmesh Patel (1/15 off 4) never allowed the scoreboard to gain any momentum for Eastern Knights.
A big congratulations to all players who both played on the day and who represented the side throughout the season, as well as to our two co-captains in Robert Howes and Neeraj Raghav who led the side superbly throughout the season.
Well done Oaks on another successful winter season! ππ

Congratulations to Robert Howes, the winner of the Grand Final Man of the Match Award as named by the umpires!
Having made 50* with the bat, Rob then capped off his day by picking up 1/20 off 6 overs and a run-out.
This is Rob's second Grand Final Man of the Match Award having also won it in last year's premiership win.
Congratulations Doogie! ππ

Happy Grand Final Day!
Good luck to our Mid-Year Sunday XI who today will be looking to complete their three-peat and go back-to-back-to-back!
There is a bit of rain about today so fingers crossed we get on - if not next Sunday is in place as a reserve day.
All the best Oaks!! ππ

The Oaks are through to the Grand Final!
Congratulations to our Sunday XI who yesterday completed a comprehensive victory to book their place in the big dance on Sunday!
Batting first, contributions all throughout the line-up set up a big score - with Dan and Rish both belting their way to 50 and Bhanu making 48 to propel the Oaks to 250.
With the ball, some stifling bowling meant Clayton District could never get in the hunt - with Matt picking up 4 wickets whilst Raj and Kumbu picked up 3 and 2 apiece.
Congratulations again and go the Oaks!! ππ

DHARMESH PATEL - 9000 SENIOR RUNS
Congratulations to Dharmesh Patel who brought up 9,000 Senior Runs for the Oaks last weekend!
A run-scoring machine over a number of years, Dharmesh becomes only the 2nd Senior player for the Oaks to reach the 9,000 run milestone and is fast closing in on the all-time record set by Sam Blackburn all the way back in 1981/82.
D's run scoring feats are capped by a magical summer during the 2018/19 Season when he scored 904 runs in our 4th XI, which still to this day remains a club record for the most runs in a single season.
Congratulations on this incredible milestone D!

The Home & Away season for the 2026 Mid-Year season is in the books!
The Sunday XI continued their strong form, winning their 8th game of the season to consolidate top spot going into the finals series this week.
The Saturday XI unfortunately went down in their final game of the season, but fought it out until the end. Well done to the Saturday boys who fought things out in the Premier Division this season and got some rewards with a few wins throughout.
Attention now turns to the finals series this week where our Sunday team will look to continue their good form. Good luck gents!

Another week, another 5-fa!
Congratulations to Kumbu who yesterday tore through the Melbourne Eagles line-up to pick up his 2nd career 5-wicket haul for the Oaks.
Brought on early in the innings, Kumbu ripped the heart out of the opposition's run chase to set up a big victory for the Oaks which locked in top spot.
Hopefully we can see a repeat of this over the coming weeks during the finals series!
Congratulations again Kumbu!
