For Ian, hydrotherapy is more than exercise - it’s a chance to get out of the house, move more freely and keep working toward his goal of walking again. With support from his MAP team and Aaron from Tanunda Physiotherapy, Ian is building flexibility, confidence
and capacity one session at a time.

We're not saying we're obsessed with the new SIL Practice Standards...

Actually, we are.

Because safe, consistent and rights-based support isn't a trend - it's the standard.

At My Ability Pathway, we're embedding the SIL Practice Standards across every team, every meeting and everyday practice, so every participant experiences support that protects their rights, respects their choices, and promotes genuine independence.

17/09/2026

The biggest change to Supported Independent Living in years starts here.

The new SIL Practice Standards are here, and they're about much more than compliance - they're about protecting rights, strengthening choice, and improving everyday outcomes for people living in Supported Independent Living.

In this video, our Director Barb and General Manager Charlotte introduce these new standards - but this is just the beginning.

Over the coming months, we'll be unpacking each of these four SIL Practice domains through reels, podcasts, blogs, and practical resources - making the standards easier to understand and even easier to put into practice.

If you're passionate about quality SIL, hit follow so you don't miss out.

Coming home isn’t just about place - it’s about people, connection, and feeling supported to keep moving forward.

After a life-changing illness, Ashley’s journey has been shaped by resilience, family, local supports and the strength of community here in the Barossa.

In this video, Ashley shares what it has meant to rebuild independence, reconnect with others
and find hope in the everyday - one step, one conversation and one cup-half-full moment at a
time.

His story is a powerful reminder that support can look different for everyone, and sometimes the most meaningful change begins with simply feeling understood.

🎨 Sometimes, expression doesn’t need words.

For Bianca, art has become a way to express herself, explore her creativity and share a little piece of who she is with the world.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that creativity isn’t about being “good” at art - it’s about having the opportunity, encouragement and space to create something that is uniquely yours. 💜

And right now, Bianca’s artwork is featured as part of the Barossa Village SALA Exhibition.

✨ There are only a couple of days left! ✨

If you’re free tomorrow, why not pop in, take a look at the exhibition and support Bianca and the other locals whose work is being showcased?

Because everyone has a story to tell. Sometimes, we just express it differently. 💫

What does art mean to you? 🎨

For us, it's so much more than paint on a canvas. It's creativity, confidence, self-expression and connection. Or as our Founder Barb says, 'art is life'.

To celebrate SALA, we had our own BE SEEN Art Day, where people came together to create, share stories and remind us that everyone has a unique way of expressing who they are. The joy, laughter and beautiful artwork captured in this video is exactly what August is all about.

Because everyone deserves to be seen. ✨️

SDA. SIL. STA. MTA.

You asked, and we're making the NDIS easier to understand with our new series: Demystifying NDIS Acronyms 🎉 Where we translate the NDIS into plain English - without the jargon.

Part 1: Accommodation covers the difference between
🏡 SDA = the purpose-built home
🧡 SIL = the Support Workers who help you live independently
🛏 STR = short-term respite/accommodation
🏘 MTA = temporary accommodation usually around 3 months (& usually with supports)

Because understanding your options shouldn't require learning a whole new language.

🪴 A garden space.
🌞 A sunny seat.
💚 A place to connect.

Inclusive design is about creating environments that help people keep doing what matters most.

This thoughtful alfresco area transformation shows how small design choices can make a big difference.
