Perth Soccer Club is the State’s most successful football club. Since our formation in 1948, we have been crowned champions of Western Australia on 26 occasions. Our success has been built on our values of integrity, respect, ambition, effort, teamwork and community. These are the values that were instilled in us by our founders – a group of Italian migrants from the WA Italian Club – and still hold true today. Our founders, many of who were in a new country to build a new life, used football to socialise and become part of the local community. They named the club Azzurri, which still remains the nickname of Perth SC today – pointing to our Italian migrant heritage. Perth Azzurri was not only highly successful on the pitch – winning an abundance of trophies and developing thousands of talented players – it became part of the social and cultural fabric of the community. Many friendships, relationships, marriages and business partnerships formed and blossomed at Perth Azzurri, and lifelong bonds with the club were passed on to the next generation. The children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of some of our founding members are still active participants in our club today. In 1987, Perth Azzurri, along with traditional rival East Fremantle Tricolore and Balcatta Etna, decided to unite the Italian footballing community in a bid to form a stronger and united group with the intention to join the National Soccer league. This led to the amalgamation of the three clubs and the establishment of Perth Italia. Perth Italia quickly proved itself as a force in local football, winning five consecutive premierships between 1989 and 1993. Entry into the National Soccer League never eventuated and both Balcatta Etna (1991) and East Fremantle Tricolore (2004) left the merged club. In 1995, the club dropped the “Italia” name to broaden our appeal in the community. We became known as Perth Soccer Club – as we are still known today. The club logo was redesigned in 2013 to reflect our Azzurri heritage, with the club’s colours also returning to the sky blue tone to honour our founding fathers. While proud of our Italian heritage, the club has opened its doors to the broader community. We have players from various ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds playing at Perth SC and have also hosted other sports such as rugby league and gridiron at Dorrien Gardens. In 2020, several years after the reintroduction of junior girls teams at the club, Perth SC was selected to become part of the inaugural NPLWA Women’s League – the top tier of women’s football in WA. Our young girls now have something to strive for when doing the hard work in the junior ranks – to represent Perth SC at senior level in the State’s best women’s football competition. Perth SC has produced a number of players who have gone on to represent Australian national teams at both youth and senior levels and become professional footballers and international players in their own right. More importantly, Perth SC has played a key development role in thousands of young men and women that have become active and positive contributors in our local community. Perth SC has evolved over more than 70 years, but we remain true to our values and our purpose to make our members better players and better people. This is why we will continue to create lifelong members and supporters of our club, who will pass on their love and passion for Perth SC to the next generation.

Perth Azzurri is delighted to announce the appointment of Ago Mujic as its new NPLM Head Coach.

Mujic joins Azzurri after spending two years with Stirling Macedonia, where he guided the club to victories in the 2025 State Cup and the 2026 Night Series.

Prior to his time with Stirling, Mujic was at Perth Glory, where he coached the NPLM side as well as serving as an assistant with the A-League squad.

Mujic has also played professionally in Bosnia, Sweden and Croatia as well as playing locally after relocating to Perth in 2006.

“Ago is one of the State’s best coaches and a proven winner at NPLM level in Western Australia," Marocchi said.

“His teams are always well organised, have a game plan, work extremely hard and have a strong team culture.

“We look forward to working with Ago to continue on our recent progress and build a team that works hard, fights for our community, understands our club’s rich history, but more importantly, understands that they get to write the next chapter.”

Mujic said he was excited about the appointment.

“I’m delighted to get the opportunity to coach such a great club like Perth Azzurri, with its great history, culture and community behind it,” Mujic said.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone at the club in making us feel welcome and we can’t wait to start work and build something special in 2027, both on and off the pitch.”

Perth Azzurri can announce that NPLM Head Coach Kenny Lowe has departed the club following the completion of his contract.

Lowe has spent the past two and a half seasons at the club, culminating in an appearance in the Top Four Cup final last week.

Perth Azzurri President Jason Marocchi thanked Lowe for his contribution to the club.

“Kenny is one of the best credentialled coaches in WA and our fans have enjoyed the entertaining and attacking football played under his tenure,” Marocchi said.

“He joined our club midway through one of our most challenging seasons and has worked with our squad over the past two seasons to bring Azzurri back to playing finals football.
