Congratulations to Maia, Harper, Avalee, Lennyn and Ayana, who attended the Townsville Eisteddfod at the start of the school holidays! 💙

Harper and Maia danced in the Highland sections, and all five girls competed in Irish dancing. We’re so proud of the effort and enthusiasm you brought to the stage!

For most of our dancers, this was their last competition of the year. What a lovely way to finish — well done, girls! ☘️

💙 “Just a dance studio…” 💙

If only it were just teaching dance! 😂

Running a dance studio means wearing MANY hats 🎩 — dance teacher, choreographer, costume designer, seamstress, accountant, travel agent, DJ, hairdresser, cleaner, photographer, videographer, detective, first-aid officer… and sometimes professional finder of “the thing I literally just had in my hand!” 🤣

Behind every class, concert, competition, costume and special moment are countless little jobs that somehow all become part of the role.

But at the end of the day, we wouldn’t change it. 💙

Almost 6 minutes of our Senior Group Dance finished in just TWO lessons! 🤯👏

The quick pace of this song has definitely kept us busy and moving! So impressed with everyone’s hard work and effort. 💜

☘️ HAPPY INTERNATIONAL IRISH DANCE DAY! ☘️

Today we celebrate so much more than Irish dancing. We celebrate community, friendships, memories and the people who make this journey so special. 💚

At International Dance Affair, our Irish dance families truly are a little community of their own. Through the highs and the lows, the wins and disappointments, the nerves and excitement — we are here for each other.

We cheer from the side of the stage, help with wigs, shoes and costumes, travel together, sit through long competition days, celebrate personal bests and big goals, and pick each other up when things don’t quite go to plan.

There are trophies and medals along the way, but some of the greatest things Irish dancing gives us can’t be placed on a shelf — lifelong friendships, confidence, resilience, belonging and memories that will last forever. ☘️

From a dancer’s very first class to their biggest championship stage, every achievement is celebrated and every dancer is supported.

Our IDA Irish dance community is something incredibly special, and we are so grateful for every dancer, parent, sibling, teacher and supporter who is part of it.
