I DID IT 🤘🏼
First time I’ve run 5km in my life.
Don’t be fooled - this included walking intervals but this is the first time I have hit the 5km mark and also the longest running interval. Huge win for me today 🥺🎉
To think I started with 1 minute intervals at the start of the year (and that was hard), to hitting this milestone today. What a sense of achievement.
The level of self confidence that comes from doing hard things is unmatched. If you do something you thought you could never do, it gives you the confidence to look at other things you may have previously written off and think ‘hey maybe i can do that too’….
Running is one of the things I have stayed away from my entire life. As early as I can remember, I would avoid PE and sports days, I would even purposely forget my hat or sports uniforms so I didn’t have to do it. And then at my fittest during my 20s, I still would avoid running at all costs.
So at 33 years of age, I decided to challenge this thought, this perception I had of myself.
And I’m here, doing it.
I am here to show you, it’s never too late.
It’s never too late to start. You’re never too old to challenge limiting beliefs you have about yourself.
Because sometimes the only thing holding you back, is yourself.
And the bu****it you tell yourself is true.
A moment of appreciation for Maddison Markerink because there is no way in hell I would’ve started this without you 💛💛💛💛💛 pick people in life who want to see you succeed and help you get there xx
