Swordcraft is Australia's largest medieval battle game and live action roleplay event. Players fight with authentic-looking foam weapons and real steel armour, chain maille, leather, and high quality costumes. Our inspiration comes from the medieval and renaissance grimdark fantasy of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Battle.

Battle night!

As some of you are on field battling it out tonight in the cold I thought I would do a post about our upcoming location change while I stay nice and warm.

This was announced on field a couple of weeks ago that we would be changing locations and now it has fully been finalised.

We are moving to Weeroona Oval as of the first week of october (first game the 7th)

This is going to be a big change for Bendigo as we have been at North Bendigo of the past 12 years since Bendigo Swordcraft started.

Please bare with us on the first game at the new location. We will most likely start game at 8pm (game play until 10pm) for the first game to allow for any issues with set up and getting familiar with the site.

Entrance will be from Napier street

Call out to armoured Knights that wish to be in a music video!

We have been reached out by a metal band that would like to have a knight feature in a music video they will be shooting. This will take place either in Bendigo or close to Melbourne.

This week is the new start to the financial year!

This means there is a couple of things you need to remember for this week!

๐Ÿ’ซ Memberships! Please get you new memberships before coming to sign in.

โณ๏ธ We will be starting our earlier time so sign in closes at 7:15pm and we start game at 7:30pm!

With rain all of this week if field play is cancelled or not we will have the club rooms open to those that wish to hang out and do arts and crafts instead of playing.

The Orgs of Bendigo swordcraft have been discussing potentially moving our games forward by half an hour.

If we implement this it will start as of next month.
This would look:
Sign in open - 6:30 - 7:15pm
Game - 7:30pm - 9:30pm

The reason we have been thinking to make this change is that we have noticed a lot of players cannot stay late be it for work, tired dont want to stay up late or just they need to get home at a decent time (out of towners)

we recognise that this may make it harder for some to get to the game on time but feel it may be better for the majority. (We can make arrangements for people that know they wont be able to get there by 7:15 for sign in)

Please if you have any concerns with the change or if you are all for the change please let us know.

Good afternoon Swordcrafters

As some of you know John Ronchi has decided to step down from all volunteer roles. He has been volunteering for almost 10 years with Swordcraft and is now taking a much needed step back to allow him to be a regular player.
From the rest of the Org team we would like to thank him for all the hard work he has done for the community. We wouldn't be able to run our games and create the events we have without people like John.
