We're hosting a two-day Australian Underwater Hockey Training Camp on the final weekend of September.

All events this month will be held in the 50m Pool (in 25m mode). Please check the Lap Swimming Availability Guide before visiting.

With school holidays beginning in late September, we expect more visitors across the Centre. Please allow extra time when planning your visit.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our YMCA Aquatic team at the 2026 SA Aquatic Conference & Awards, hosted by Surf Life Saving South Australia, AUSTSWIM and Royal Life Saving South Australia.

A highlight of the evening was the Adelaide Aquatic Centre being recognised as Large Swim School of the Year, a fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication, expertise and passion of our swim school team, who help thousands of children and adults build lifelong water safety and swimming skills each year.

We also congratulate Jennifer Jones from the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, who was named South Australian Infant and Preschool Teacher of the Year, and David Gillespie, recipient of the Pool Employee of the Year award.

The conference also showcased industry leadership from within YMCA Aquatic, with General Manager Adam Luscombe and Aquatic Programming Manager Tiffany Oldrey presenting and sharing insights with aquatic professionals from across South Australia.

These achievements are a reflection of the outstanding people who make the Centres great places to learn, swim, stay active and connect with the community.

Congratulations to all nominees, finalists and award winners, and thank you to Royal Life Saving South Australia for another fantastic event celebrating excellence across the aquatic industry.

It was a fantastic morning at the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre yesterday, with Minister Picton visiting to observe swimming lessons and see the facility in action. We appreciated the opportunity to showcase the strong growth being achieved, with record attendance and membership numbers reflecting the community's enthusiasm for the Centre.

YMCA Aquatic has made impressive strides in a short period of time, and the ongoing support of the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing has been invaluable in helping create this outstanding aquatic and leisure destination in the heart of Adelaide's park lands. We thank Minister Picton for taking the time to visit and see firsthand the positive impact the Centre is having on the community.

Accessibility Upgrade at AAC 🔑

We're proud to share that four accessible change rooms across the Adelaide Aquatic Centre are now fitted with MLAK locks.

MLAK (Master Locksmiths Access Key) locks help ensure these facilities remain available for the people who need them most, providing greater accessibility, dignity and independence for visitors with access requirements.

Importantly, only four accessible change rooms have been fitted with MLAK locks. A further eight accessible toilets and change rooms remain available throughout the Centre via push-button access, alongside several inclusive and ambulant change facilities with conventional door access.

If you require access to an MLAK-equipped room and don't have a key, our team can assist, with staff carrying MLAK keys on-site.
