WINTER WARRIOR CHECK-IN 🏆

Consistency isn’t about being perfect… it’s about showing up for yourself.

As we head into the final weeks of winter, our Perfect Fit crew are checking in with themselves and setting a training target for the month.

For some, that’s 20 sessions.

For others, it might be 8, 10 or 12.

Because accountability isn’t about competing with someone else—it’s about keeping the promises you make to yourself.

One of the things I love most about our timetable is that it allows people to train consistently. Strength, cardio, strength, cardio, core and conditioning… our sessions complement each other, so many of our members comfortably build a routine of three, four or even more sessions each week. Some even love a double day with cardio followed by strength!

You don’t have to be “all in” to make progress.

You just have to keep turning up.

Every workout builds confidence.
Every workout builds strength.
Every workout is a vote for the person you want to become.

Here’s to finishing winter feeling stronger than we started. 💚

Who is setting a goal for themselves this month?

After 15 years of coaching, one thing has become crystal clear…

We’re all far more alike than we think.

The fittest person you know has struggled.
The most disciplined person has had setbacks.
The people who succeed aren’t perfect—they just keep coming back.

If this message resonates with you, I’d love to know what part hit home. ❤️

Your future is not built in one defining moment.

It is shaped in the ordinary, often unnoticed choices you make each day.

The way you move your body.
The standards you hold.
The nourishment you choose.
The rest you allow.
The discipline you practise when nobody is watching.

Each choice leaves a footprint.

Some carry you toward greater strength, energy and freedom.
Others quietly take you further away.

Perfection is not required.

But awareness is.

Because your habits are never neutral.
They are either contributing to your future—or costing it.

What kind of future are your choices funding today?

A great place to START!

JERF

Just eat real food.
No gimmicks. No powders pretending to be meals. No “health” bars full of numbers you can’t pronounce.
This is breakfast:
Vegetables. Avocado. Eggs. Sourdough. Vegemite. Kraut.
Food that fuels your body, supports your gut, builds muscle, and keeps you full.
If your goal is strength, energy, and long-term health — it starts here. Not in a packet.
Keep it simple. Keep it real.

I will show up, even when I don’t feel like it.

I will keep the promises I make to myself.

I will remember that confidence isn’t something you find—it’s something you build, one workout, one healthy choice, and one small win at a time.

I don’t need perfection.

I just need to begin.

Monday isn’t a fresh start.

It’s another opportunity to become the person I’m working towards.

You’ve got this.

💚

The strongest people I know aren’t always the most talented or the fittest. They’re simply the ones who keep turning up.

Some days you’ll feel unstoppable. Other days you’ll have to rely on discipline instead of motivation.

Both count.

Your future health isn’t built in one workout. It’s built by the hundreds of ordinary decisions that nobody else sees.

So today, make one good choice. Then another. Before you know it, you’ve built another week you can be proud of.

Let’s make this week count.

“Women don’t need more workouts. They need a plan to become progressively stronger.”

Strength isn’t about doing the hardest workout.

It’s about progressively becoming stronger.

One of the biggest mistakes I see women over 40 make is lifting the same weights year after year and wondering why nothing changes.

Your body needs progressive overload—gradually increasing resistance over time, with good technique and the right coaching.

That’s how we build stronger muscles.
That’s how we stimulate bone health.
That’s how we improve metabolism.
That’s how we create a body that’s capable, resilient and confident through menopause and beyond.

At PERFECT FIT, we teach proper lifting from the ground up.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of barbell work, compound lifting and functional strength before progressing safely to heavier loads as your confidence and technique improve.

Our strength classes are intentionally capped at 10 people, so you receive plenty of coaching, individual attention and technical guidance every session.

No getting lost in a crowded room.
No wondering if you’re doing it correctly.
Just quality coaching, smart programming and steady progress.

If you’re serious about building strength—not just getting through another workout—we’d love to help.

Strong isn’t just about lifting heavier. It’s about moving better.

Mobility is one of the most overlooked parts of fitness… until you lose it.

Healthy joints, flexible muscles, and good movement patterns help you:
✔ Move with less pain and stiffness
✔ Lift heavier, safer, and with better technique
✔ Improve posture and balance
✔ Recover faster
✔ Stay active for life

At PERFECT FIT, every one-hour group class finishes with a dedicated 15-minute mobility and stretching session because building strength is only half the equation.

Want even more? You don’t have to book a personal training session just to work harder—you can book one specifically for mobility, stretching, movement quality, and recovery. Sometimes that’s exactly what your body needs.

Strong. Mobile. Pain-free.

That’s fitness for life.

This weekend wasn’t exciting.

It was nourishing.

A swim in the ocean after class with clients.
Cleaning my little studio in peace.
Watering plants.
A quiet workout.
Long walks.
Cooking wholesome food.
Time with my family.
Meditation.
Music.
A magnesium bath.
An afternoon massage.
An early night.
A slow Sunday.

No rushing.
No chasing.
No pressure to be productive every minute.

Just making small choices that filled my cup instead of emptying it.

As women—especially through our 40s, 50s and beyond—we spend so much of our lives giving to everyone else. Our families. Our work. Our communities. We answer messages, solve problems, carry emotional loads and keep life moving.

But our nervous systems weren’t designed to stay switched on all the time.

They need quiet.
They need nature.
They need movement without pressure.
They need stillness.
They need space away from screens.
They need moments where nobody needs anything from us.

This is what keeps me well.

Not perfection.
Not restriction.
Not hustle.

Just coming back to myself, every single weekend.

I hope this week you can find even one hour that belongs only to you.

Protect it.

Your future self will thank you.

❤️

Five weeks. One goal.

When Emma began this project, she could perform a chin-up only with the assistance of two strong bands.

As part of her Masters in Coaching Psychology, she chose to document the process of working towards her first bodyweight chin-up. What followed became a great reminder of what can happen when a clear goal meets consistent effort.

I told Emma this could take six weeks. It could take six months. Strength doesn’t always work to a timetable.

But after just five weeks of focused training, three dedicated preparation sessions each week, and a willingness to trust the process, she achieved her first unassisted bodyweight chin-up.

This is what I love about strength training and personal training especially.

It’s not just about exercise. It’s about having a purpose, working towards something you once thought was out of reach, and discovering what you’re capable of along the way.

For women over 40 especially, building strength isn’t about shrinking ourselves. It’s about becoming more capable, more confident, and more resilient for life.

Emma is the kind of client every coach loves working with—curious, committed, and always ready to take on a new challenge.

Watch the journey through to the end. The moment she gets that first chin-up is worth it.

This is something I care deeply about.
Watching these women get stronger — not just physically, but in how they carry themselves — it honestly never gets old.
We’re not here chasing a body.
We’re building strength for life. Bone density. Muscle. Confidence. Independence.
And it matters… especially as we get older.
Because this isn’t just about us — it’s about showing the next generation what’s possible.
If you’ve been thinking about starting, just start. We’ll meet you where you’re at.
Mx ❤️💪😘
