Blue Gum Hills parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am in Minmi, NSW, Australia. Blue Gum Hills parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners / walkers. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians, from juniors 5 years or older to those with decades of experience. All runners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we urge everybody to get involved in organising their local events at least 3 times per year.

Thank you from Blue Gum Hills parkrun this morning - 12 Years Strong 🎉

Twelve years ago, a small group gathered at Blue Gum Hills with a simple idea: a free, weekly Parkrun for the community… Fast forward to today, and that simple idea has become something much bigger. A community. A family. 💙😊🙌🫶

Blue Gum Hills has given us more than a parkrun. It's given us a place where friendships grow on the trails, conversations happen on the hills (when you catch your breath), birds provide the soundtrack, mozzies keep us moving and the old chimney stack stands watch over milestones, celebrations and memories we've created together. 🥳😎🫶💙

In the last 12 months we've had 5,438 finishers and been supported by 507 volunteer roles. 💪 Legends!! …and a testament to the spirit of our BGH community. A huge thank you to our volunteers. ♥️ Whether you've marshalled, scanned barcodes, timed, handed out tokens, tail walked, set up or packed away, many have given up their own run so that others could enjoy theirs. Blue Gum Hills parkrun simply would not happen without you. 🫶🥳

Over the past 12 years we've celebrated personal bests, milestones, birthdays, weddings, new couples and babies …some who are now running on Saturday mornings themselves. We’ve watched weekly as our Parkrun children have become adults. Best of all we’ve shared laughter, coffee (good & bad), conversations and support through life's ups and downs (including a pandemic!).

A special thank you to our Run Directors, past and present, for their leadership and commitment: To our current RD team that includes Sam, Rog, Megan, Dave, Malcolm, Owen, Jeremy and Andrew. Your willingness to step up, arrive early, solve problems and keep the event running seamlessly and safely each week is deeply appreciated. 👏 🙇 🫶🙏

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has walked, jogged, run, volunteered, cheered, brought a friend or simply been part of the Blue Gum Hills parkrun family. 🙌💙😎🥰
