Congratulations to Blue Bagger Hamish Dundas on his Award for the Newcastle Mens Hockey Umpire of the Year.

🏆 Hamish Dundas | Norths Hockey Club, Newcastle

The Newcastle Men's Hockey Association is pleased to announce Hamish Dundas as the Association's Umpire of the Year for 2026.

Hamish stepped up to officiate throughout the season, covering a large number of matches across multiple divisions. He officiated extensively in the HCPL, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade competitions, consistently putting his hand up whenever needed to fill umpiring appointments and support the game.

In addition to his local commitments, Hamish represented Newcastle at the Masters State Championships held in Newcastle and was appointed to umpire the Newcastle 3rd Grade Grand Final on Saturday, recognition of his dedication and the high standard of his officiating.

Congratulations, Hamish, on an outstanding 2026 season and a well-deserved Umpire of the Year award!

Congratulations to Blue Bagger Matt Dawson on being named Newcastle Mens Hockey Rep Player of the Year. Well done you Blue Bagger, well deserved after an outstanding Hockey NSW State Champs.

🏆 Matthew Dawson | Norths Hockey Club, Newcastle

Matthew led our Newcastle Men's Open team to Division 1 State Championship success at Unanderra in June. The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament and capped off an outstanding campaign with a 5-1 victory over Illawarra in the final.

Despite an abundance of talent and experience across the squad, it was Matthew's leadership, composure, and experience throughout the championship that truly stood out. His influence on and off the field played a pivotal role in the team's success.

Congratulations, Matthew, on a well-deserved recognition as the Newcastle Men's Hockey Association Representative Player of the Year!

The Hockey Season never ends for some Blue Baggers. Norths Boys Noah Jordan and Dustin Collins spotted out today umpiring the NSWPSSA Knockout Hockey Finals at home in Newy. Well done Boys!

Congratulations to Blue Bagger AJ Dimmock on being named The Life Members Player of the Hunter Coast Premier League Grand Final. Well done you Blue Bagger, well deserved after an outstanding GF performance.

HCPL Life Members Player of the Grand Final: AJ Dimmock

Norths Hockey Club's AJ Dimmock earned the HCPL Life Members Player of the Grand Final award after an exceptional display in goal.

AJ stood tall under pressure, making a number of crucial saves to deny the Gosford attack and keep Norths in control throughout the match. His efforts were recognised by the Newcastle Men's Hockey Life Members, who voted him the standout player of the Grand Final.

Tough finish to the Season for 2nd grade going down to rivals Souths in the Big Dance. Disappointing being edged out in the Big one after a dominant Season in Blue. We look forward to seeing all these Blue Baggers back in 2027 to give it another go.

Not the desired Grand Final result for our 4th grade after a strong year out in Blue. Wests unfortunately scoring in the dying minutes to grab the win. Hard luck you Blue Baggers, look forward to seeing you all back in Blue in 2027.
