Western Suburbs District Cricket Club is delighted to welcome Les Smith to the Green and Gold for the 2026/27 season.
Having recently relocated to Newcastle, Les joins Wests with an outstanding cricketing résumé and a wealth of representative experience. His honours include selection in the NSW Under 17s, Mid North Coast Colts (Under 19s), two appearances representing NSW at the National Indigenous Cricket Championships, where he was part of a championship-winning side, and selection in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Squad.
A talented all-round cricketer, Les brings quality with both bat and ball, exceptional fielding ability, and a competitive mindset that will strengthen our playing group. Just as importantly, his enthusiasm, professionalism, and passion for the game make him a fantastic addition to the Wests culture.

Western Suburbs Cricket Club Newcastle is now inviting expressions of interest from players wishing to captain one of our senior teams for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
We are seeking passionate leaders who are committed to:�• Leading by example both on and off the field�• Creating a positive and inclusive team culture�• Supporting the development of players at all levels�• Upholding the values and proud traditions of Western Suburbs Cricket Club�• Working closely with the Committee and Selection Panel throughout the season.

At last night's Annual General Meeting, members elected the 2026/27 Wests Cricket Club Management Committee.

Congratulations to our newly elected committee. We look forward to another exciting season as we continue building on the proud traditions of our club and working together to ensure Wests remains a strong, successful and welcoming club for all members.

We would also like to sincerely thank Louise Gallagher and Rob Thornton for their outstanding service and commitment during their time on the committee. Your dedication, countless volunteer hours and contribution to the club have been greatly appreciated, and we thank you for everything you have done for Wests Cricket Club.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Just a reminder that the AGM is on tomorrow evening, Monday 7pm at Wests New Lambton Marble Bar (1st floor). All Members are encouraged to attend where the Annual Yearbook will be revealed, we will recognise Michael McEntyre's Cricket NSW Volunteer Service Award and elect new members to the committee.
We still have a couple of committee positions available for the right skill set so if you are motivated to contribute to a progressive, diverse and inclusive leadership group - put your hand up!

Wests Cricket Club - Newcastle is proud to welcome Aj Isherwood to the Rosella family for the 2026/27 season.
AJ is an accomplished all-rounder whose experience has been built across Premier Cricket, representative cricket and top-level Newcastle cricket. A classy left-handed batsman and accurate left-arm orthodox spinner, he has consistently performed at the highest levels, combining the ability to score match-winning runs with the knack of taking crucial wickets.
