Best thing to see one our local drivers safely on the rescue boat after this.

While the day didn’t end well 😔. We wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to all the rescue crew and all the lads down the ramp for helping us get our little blue rocket back on the trailer.

Steve is a bit sore but overall in good spirits. We’re having a couple of quiet ones and talking a fair bit of bu****it 😂😂.

Boats faired well, not so sure on the engine 😔.

From us (the crew) were just glad our fearless leader is fine.

This photo is off our GoPro that got wiped off. Whilst in the water, Steve asked one of the rescue crew to do a bit of filming. To that legend, thank you 🥃🥃😂😂

Little Nelson 16/09/2026 - first dive of our day (when my camera was happy to work). Before tide and it was the strongest current I have ever felt at this site. It wasn't possible to come around to explore the corner of Fly Point, so we ventured out deeper. 6-7m of bright viz as the sun was helping us out, a little bit silty though. Lots of w**d growth compared to my last visit here, but it was just beautiful. Lots of nudibranchs to be found and we only got out at 72mins as we had to move to the next dive. Water temp 18c.

Fly Point 16/09/2026 - well that dive did not go to plan. Camera froze up with the same sensor issue that was replaced last year. Of course lots of nudibranchs were then spotted and my GoPro loving friends (Trish and Ezra) just couldn't capture the microscopic finds. A little cranky resulted in a shorter 65min dive (50mins without a camera). Overcast skies made the dive a bit darker, but viz was generally 6m with some silt. Water temp 18c. The wind was howling on the surface, but blowing across the dive site.

Little Beach 12/09/2026 - 90min night dive with Ezra, Carissa and Trish. Lovely in water conditions with viz easily 8m. Water temp 18c. We didn't make it to the barge as we just kept getting distracted along the way. A fairly successful nudibranch dive.

Halifax 13/09/2026 - a 74min morning dive in the search for nudibranchs with Trish, Carissa and Ezra. The water looked amazing from the surface - clear and blue. However, we dropped down into 5-6m darker and murky water. Viz did become clearer towards the end of our dive, which was the run out tide. Water temp 18c. Lots of the same variety and small sizes to be found.

Pipeline 11/09/2026 - Ezra and I did a 68min dive as our first for the census. Someone forgot to tell the nudibranchs of Pipeline to show up though! Overcast skies made for a darker dive with slightly murky water as well, viz 5m. Water temp 18c. Not many big things about either to keep Ezra occupied for a longer dive time - we both got out with plenty of air left.

Fly Point 05/09/2026 - 84mins of pre nudi census planning with Carissa. We had some targets for this dive and unfortunately we just didn't find them. I guess that means we just have to try harder when the census starts next week. Water temp 18c, so it's already on the increase. Viz changed a bit across the dive site, some murky 5-6m patches, other parts much clearer at 8m.

September has arrived and looking forward my month is absolutely packed full. With major family events, nudibranch census, and powerboat meets there is just not enough hours in the day to also run social dives. As the month goes on if things change I will pop up some dives, but for now I won't have a calendar for September.

Fly Point 22/08/2026 - just Ezra and I diving at Fly yesterday. Dive time of 61mins as we had places to be afterwards. Ez went for the big stuff and I photographed my usual small stuff. Some really great microscopic finds on this dive. Water temp 17c and a murky 6-7m viz. Dolphins tormented us at the end of the dive again - this time 5 including 2 young ones came in close many times, but as soon as we dropped down they were gone.
